I am slowly but surely packing for my trip to New York City on Tuesday morning. We will be there for a week, so I have quite a bit of stuff to bring. Not to mention the fact that I am an obsessive over-packer, and bring a million different outfits for all possible situations. If I took all the beauty stuff I felt like I needed, it would take up a whole suitcase of its own. This time around I have cut myself back to the bare minimum to save room. I am also carrying the suitcase on the plane with me, so no liquids over 4 ounces! Being a product junkie makes both tasks extremely difficult, so I decided to share a bit of what I’m bringing with my fellow beauty hoarders!
My skin is not a fan of a change in routine, so travel generally causes overall havoc. I hate having to pour face wash into a smaller 4oz container. I always end up wasting product or not knowing what is what. Pond’s Wet Cleansing Morning Refresh Towelettes are one of the only travel friendly products I have found that doesn’t freak my skin out. I will use these to remove all of my makeup, and then I just wipe my face down with a warm washcloth. It works wonderfully, and the wipes smell SO good!
When it comes to shampoo I like to bring the Lush Jumping Juniper Solid Shampoo. This particular solid is for oily hair and it leaves a fantastic scent! These little guys seem totally weird at first, and you wouldn’t think it works, but in fact it does! I just take it in the shower and lather up some shampoo between my hands. You can take your hands straight to your hair from there, and you’ll get a good clean rinse! Oh, and no annoying mini shampoo bottles that only last two washes. This can keep cleaning up to the equivalent of 3 normal bottles.
I never go without painted nails, so before traveling I make an effort to paint up with a mini bottle that can easily slip into my makeup pouch for touch ups. This Sephora by OPI Bohemian Brights Mini Nail Colour Set is filled with awesome colors in itty bitty form. The colors in order from left to right are Let’s Hear It For the Free Spirit!, What Aura Gonna Wear?, It’s Totally Karma, Neutral Beauty, That’s What Fringe Is For, and Happy Earth Day To Me. Three more neutral shades, two bold and bright, and one deep and sexy…you need nothing more!
I have always had trouble getting and staying asleep, and traveling just seems to amplify the issue. 21 Drops is a brand that makes chic little rollerballs filled with therapeutic aromatherapy essential oils. You can get different ones like De-Stress, Decongest, and PMS. This trip I will have number 18 Sleep Essential Oil Rollerball will me. Apply this to your temples, wrists and neck when you want to induce peaceful sleep.
The Evian Mineral Water Spray Duo To Go is a definite necessity when I travel, especially when it comes to hours spent high in the sky on an airplane. After flying I spritz this on my face to refresh my makeup and help me look not so terrible. I know spraying water on your face seems crazy, but it instantly moisturizes and wakes your skin up! Just trust me on this one!
If you can’t stray from your current brands and products check out 3floz.com! They have oodles of products in airplane friendly sizes. What are your travel must-haves?! Do you cut back or carry everything you own?
