I've been wanting to get a couple of subs for my daughter (she is two), but I wanted to get some recommendations first. I was going to sub to Bluum and Citrus Lane because they both have half off coupons, but I wanted to do maybe one more. So, mamas, what have been some of your favorite sub boxes for toddlers?

I would look into Wittlebee. Citrus Lane and Bluum are great but obviously don't include clothing, so that would round out the mix nicely IMO. I have only gotten a few Bluum boxes (only two since their model changed) and one Wittlebee and one Citrus Lane.

How was the one Wittlebee you received? I've heard such polar reviews that it makes me a little wary to try them out. I just found a 50% off coupon, so I guess one box wouldn't hurt!

I really liked it! I got a few short sleeved shirts, a couple of long sleeved thermals (black and grey), and a pair of black sweatpants (from American Apparel). Two of the short sleeved shirts had cute graphics on them (a dinosaur playing video games and outer space), one of them was plainer with a star print.

However, I got it a few months ago. Now you choose three of the items and Wittlebee chooses three; when I tried it out Wittlebee chose all of the items for me.

The CEO of Wittlebee just left the Company.  They are going through a lot of changes.  I think they recently canceled some orders because they didn't have enough stock?  Not sure where that stands now as that was a few weeks ago and I haven't heard anything else?

What about Kiwi Crate?  How old of toddlers?  They have a 50% off your first box coupon right now (it's "FF50"), so you could try it for $9.95.

She is two... I heard of them, but didn't really look into them.. I will check now and see if its age appropriate!

After what you said about Wittlebee, that makes me even more nervous! I do need more summer clothes for her though

Kiwi Crate is for older kids 3-7.  Maybe check out PickyBunny for clothes???

I had Citrus Lane for my youngest for 7 months. We just got our last box, and I had it for her when she was 6 months old to 12 months old. It was just okay, I got the first box 1/2 off and then got a good deal for a 6 month sub ($15/month - so $90 total) and even that wasn't really worth the value IMO. All her boxes were incredibly repetitive and predictable: teething toys, pouch food/baby snack, book, some sort of natural "deluxe sample" product for mom (like a lotion or chapstick). We did get a few cute things but overall I was bored with it by about the 3rd month in and I have no plans to re-sub. They used to do cute themes but ever since they stopped that I feel like they just throw random stuff in and at least the age group her boxes were in seemed to get the same stuff over and over and over.

We have really liked Citrus Lane, but I don't know how it is for baby age. FabKids yes - for a month ($40 is way too much IMO). I like the Little Book Club. I would prob try Little Pnuts.

I had the Magic School Bus Science kit for my 7 year old daughter. It is monthly and is $20.00 a month.  I got her 3 months and we did have a lot of fun with it.  But after  3 months I sensed her interest was not as strong so I dropped it.  I really liked the kit though and there was some online stuff you could do with it too.

I don't know if he enjoys reading, but I just got the Young Author's Treasure Box and was very impressed. They have a box for any age from infant to 6th grade -

This was the box for the 4th-6th grade boy, it had a hardcover, 3 softcovers, lots of writing tools, extras, etc.

That is awesome! I remember the Magic School Bus as a kid.. I hope the monthly kit is still around when she is old enough to get it! I might have to sub for my cousin who is turning 7 this month haha

It really was a lot of fun and she also loved it so much because she was getting a "box" of her own each month.  She loves to look thru my PopSugar box when I get it and that was why I looked for something for her and the Magic School Bus was what I found.

We are huge readers at our house! We did Kiwi Crate for 4 months. My daughter was 2 and while she was young for it, it was a great project for her and the nanny while I was at school. I thought it was a good value for thr money and will most likely do it again in the future. ooooh! I didnt know there were kid subs lol, i have a 9 year old sister who love when i get my subs

My older kids (7 and 9) really love Magic School Bus.  I saw on Plum District (a daily deal site) that they have it for $120 for a year which is half off.  I know that is how I purchased it last summer.  Plum District often has coupon codes available which could bring your total down.  I think last summer I found one for 20% off, but haven't looked recently.

We also got Little Passport for three months which my kids didn't like.  We didn't even open the last envelope.

We got Bluum before the model change, and really didn't like it.  I had CS trouble, and the boxes rarely met the value of what I paid.  I understand they have changed though.

I have also subscribed to Citrus Lane for about a year.  I preferred it when it was themed boxes, but we still feel like there is value.  It is particularly nice for our youngest to have a few new toys and books and not just well loved hand me downs as he is the youngest of four.

We also have purchased a few things through FabKids.  Their sizes ran really small for my daughter and while we loved a couple of the outfits, the other two just sat in the closet unworn.  She is 4 and does better when she can see and touch and pick out her own clothes.  FabKids does have a lot of sales and a great referral program.
