Does anybody know a good home remedy for Blackheads? One that really works and uses ingredients that are not hard to find. Thank you!

Steam your face then use a scrub and do small circles. I've heard of people using baking soda, but I haven't tried it personally. I've also done the cinnamon and honey mask which I saw nice results with. And then just used the grains from the cinnamon to lightly scrub when I took it off. Yes it does slightly burn when you put it on but it wasn't anything that was uncomfortable. I know you said home remedies, but if you go to a day spa they can do a chemical peel on you and that will help slough off the dead skin cells and help get the bad stuff out. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Thanks for the tips @Esthylove  :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> What scrubs have you tried already? I was gonna try the honey+cinnamon mix, I'm just looking for a good honey brand. But I'm a little skeptical about the cinnamon as it may cause allergies to my face...  :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> Chemical peels are expensive though..and I'm looking for natural remedies to stay safe  :smilehappyyes:

The cinnamon one is the only natural one I've tried. Cinnamon can be irritating so be careful if you have sensitive skin. I use raw honey from one of my husbands coworkers. Yes, chemical peels are expensive, I forget people have to go get them done and pay for the service. :p /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> You can do an enzyme peel, it uses fruit enzymes to eat the dead skin cells. I knew someone that would rub papaya on her face and let it sit. But do your research before you just start rubbing fruit on your face :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Cinnamon and lemon juice remedy to banish blackheads completely:

- Add one tablespoon of lemon juice to 1 tablespoon cinnamon powder and mix well.

- Apply this on blackheads and leave for 15 minutes, than rinse off.

- Do this twice or thrice a day.

Sort of counterintuitive, but oil cleansing dissolved a lot of stubborn blackheads on my nose. I steam my face, then massage a mix of 1 part castor oil and 1 part sunflower seed oil into my skin, then steam again and wipe away any excess oil. About a week of that and normal exfoliation and my blackheads were mostly gone.

Sugar is a good at home scrub, but if you have the option of buying one I found charcoal scrubs really great for purging my skin. I've found single use pouches of charcoal mask/scrub at Walmart for $1.50 (which worked well but was a little harsh for my skin), but right now I'm using one by Giovanni, which is a natural brand.

I love the baking soda scrub. Just be sure to tone afterwards so that you don't mess up your skins PH!

I steam my face, make a paste with baking soda and water, and sort of "spackle" it on. It's not a thick consistency (if it's too thick it could be too abrasive) so patting it on the places I want to concentrate on helps. Then I let it sit for a few minutes and, with damp fingers, do circular moments and finish off by splashing my face with cool water and patting it dry then toning.

And this isn't necessarily a "home remedy", but I've heard of people using activated charcoal. You can get it on amazon!
