Best primer/cover up for acne scars?

I had terrible acne when I was younger and it has left me with some deep acne scars. They are not red, faded to skin color but I have been trying desperately to hide them. I got a promotion at my job and now I am terribly self conscience for that reason, among others.

Primer wise I have tried hard candy, rimmel fix and pro and a mineral one I bought at Sally's. No luck. Haven't bought any new foundation yet, but I am going shopping tomorrow.

I still have oily skin but no longer break out. I don't mind spending money on more expensive brands but I want to know what works the best for those of you in the same boat....I keep reading different things when I try to google it. This is very frustrating.

Also any application tips or other products to use along with foundation and primer would be helpful. Thank you!

EnKore's tutorial is the best that I've seen on covering these kinds of scars. 



As for concealer, the best I've ever used is Le Metier de Beaute Peau Vireage Correcteur Concealer. It's crazy expensive but is truly the best I've used. 

Any type of peach, salmon or even coral colored primers are going to be your best bet, since they're color correcting.
