My nose is very very red! I think it's a combination of having rosacea and an acne medication that was pretty intense on my sensitive skin.

I have such a hard time keeping it covered. No matter what tricks I try with concealer/primer/etc it always shows through by the end of the day. I feel so embarrassed at having such an obviously red nose. It's even worse when I'm cold.. sometimes people ask if I'm sick because it's so obvious.

So, does anybody have recommendations on covering redness or experience dealing with rosacea? Even skincare products would be a great help. It's my life mission to master concealing it.

Have you seen a dermatologist or esthetician? It sounds like they'd be of more help to you than makeup if you've tried everything.

It also sounds like from what you said you leave the house with it concealed, and then it shows through later. It may be a problem of your makeup's longevity not holding up. This could possibly be helped by some combination of a long lasting primer, powder, or setting spray. Although, even the best primer, powder, or spray can't always help a foundation that simply won't stay put.

There's lots and lots of variables though that I don't know so this information may or may not apply to you specifically and it's difficult to advise things so blindly, if at all accurately.

Hello @@avarier!

I completely feel for you! I don't have rosacea but I had photo-sensitivity dermatitis and because of this my nose was bright bright red.

Unfortunately (in my experience) nothing covered it completely. I hate to even say that but I do agree that you should see the dermatologist to see how you can reduce or tame the redness.

When my nose got red, I used bare minerals loose powder foundation with a dense brush (for a more full coverage application) and packed that on and it worked really well for me.

Other things you can try is using a green concealer to counter the redness, however that might be tricky to find the right kind of green. You can always try using a full coverage concealer. A couple you could try are MUFE and Cover FX. I think Dermalogica makes a full coverage concealer as well. Something that I've heard also is using eye drops (the ones for redness) and put it on your nose.

I truly hope this helps a little. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Have you tried Dermablend Smooth Indulgence Foundation? I have a lot of red hyperpigmentation and it covers it completely. That's Dermablends Medium to Full Coverage foundation. I'm positive their full coverage one would cover it as well.

@beautybyrowena  I have the MUFE HD concealer. It's pretty heavy duty, but it gets so cakey and weird by the end of the day on me.

Going to look this up! Is it long lasting for you?

Yes! It holds really well with setting powder. I've never tried it without because I always use powder.

A lot of people on the ulta reviews are saying that it covers redness as well! This will probably be my next foundation purchase. Thank you for the suggestion!

@ have you tried the concealer from the same brand?
I haven't, but I can't imagine needing it! Seriously, when I'm not broken out really bad, I'll use a lighter foundation and use the dermablend foundation as concealer. It's VERY pigmented!

Heart goes out to you. I would certainly recommend a Dermatologist. There is no use in having something like this be a cause of continued embarrassment and self esteem issues. Your Dermatologist specialises in this. They will see you right because it is their job t do this.

Have you tried lightening creams to get rid of the redness? I'm using azaleic acid for my red spots (combined with both rosehip seed oil and carrot seed oil) and they're doing an amazing job of fading my spots - it's been 3 weeks and there's a visible improvement.

Might work :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I have a red nose too and it drives me nuts! It always wears off by the end of the afternoon. Lately I've been applying foundation first, then concealer on top of the tip, then powdering with Hourglass Diffused light, a yellow powder.

I'm thinking maybe of trying Clinique Redness Solutions. There is also a toner by Paula's Choice which you can buy a sample of to see if it works for you- http://www.paulaschoice.com/shop/collections/Clinical/_/Clinical-Instant-Calm-Advanced-Redness-Relief/ The sample is $0.68.
