Rules and Etiquette of Swapping

I am new to subscription boxes and new to swapping items from them. I just received the August PopSugar box and there are several items I love and several I don't.  I assume to swap, I would just list what I have to trade on the PopSugar swap board and hope for another member to contact me with their potential swapping items, emails are exchanged and both items are shipped to each other. Is there a list of rules/guidelines/etiquette somewhere? I have a few questions...

Is it always a one for one trade?

What if the two items being swapped have different $ values?

What if the two items being swapped have different weights for shipping expense?

What if the other user never mails their item to you?
