I never wore makeup so I never really used cleansers and moisturizers and things of that sort. I recently started using sunscreen, and i know I had to remove the sunscreen with something other than water.

To remove the sunscreen, I have all sort of essential oils: Virgin, coconut, hemp, jojoba...etc and all sort of oil combinations. All of them seemed to break me out. I have tried using just drugstore facial removers, such as clean and clear. Surprisingly, those does not break me out. Right now I am just sticking to the drugstore cleansers.

I've heard that in order to remove sunscreen effectively, i have to use a oil based cleanser...and many drugstore cleansers will not remove all the sunscreen. That is why I am still sticking to the oil cleansers.

The funny thing is...even facial masks break me out. I've tried the mint julep mask, some korean mask etc...and they give me a few tiny pimples.

I am almost 22, so I really wanted to start using products to prevent aging. But it is so hard for me to do that because it seems like using products only worsened my skin!

Right now, your skin might be breaking out because it isn't used to all the different products you're using, but I will tell you coconut oil does clog your pores and a lot of those oils can be too heavy for acne prone skin.

If you're going to remove your makeup with oil, you should mix one of those moisturizing oils (like jojoba, sunflower seed, grapeseed, etc.) with castor oil. Castor oil is what will really penetrate your pores and dissolve all the gunk, the others are there to condition your skin. Make sure you steam your face with a washcloth before and after! (If you google "oil cleansing" you can find a complete guide to choosing oils for your skin type and how to properly use them).

Figure out a good face washing/moisturizing routine FIRST, then attack the masks, makeup, etc. Your skin may not be as acne prone as you think, it might just be adjusting to the new products and routine you're trying. The adjustment period sucks, but once you know what works you're free to enjoy product bliss!

I'm an esthetician and I've never heard that you need to use an oil based cleanser to remove sunscreen. If you just switched to something different it may take time for your skin to get used to what you're using. If you stick with it long enough the break outs should heal and go away. If you keep trying something once or twice then switching to something different you're just overwhelming your skin. Some masks are purging masks so they will cause the stuff that's stuck in your pores to come out. Drink lots of water and change your pillow case every 2-3 days, it should help :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I used to have acne-prone skin and mostly appeared on my forehead. I had it for many years and no product could improve my condition until recently i came across many good reviews on argan oil. I did not dare to try because is oil but i did some research and found out that it is 100% non-comedogenic, which means it won't clog our pores. And so i tried it for 2 weeks, my forehead completely cleared!

Your skin just isn't used to the products yet, give it a while and it will settle down. Previously my beautician recommended me a mask and I broke out in those huge horrible pimples that hurt whenever I touched them. After that I went back and asked her about it and she told me that it was natural.

Just gotta endure the ugliness for a while

She recommend me the Hyaluronic Tightening Collagen Mask by Sara Shantelle, could really see a huge difference after a few weeks

If makeup breaks you out or irritates your skin, I have a really pretty awesome trick that might work for you.

I use 100% aloe vera gel and put it on top of my skin after my moisturizer every morning.

The aloe vera gel basically creates like a super thin layer on top of my skin (it's totally transparent and not obvious) and then you can put your makeup on top of it when it totally dries and that way I think the makeup isn't making actual contact with your skin and pores, it's touching that gel layer. That might reduce your break outs, it reaaaaaaaaally works for me. I learned this trick when I was volunteering at the hospital doing the Look Good, Feel Better program for cancer patients, the cosmetologist recommended it because often women are highly sensitive to products during chemo.
