i dont think it is acne.

It's sebum. Try exfoliating once or twice a week, if that doesn't help you can extract the stuff out. But if you don't know what you're doing you can get broken capillaries so it's best to have a professional help you out. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Make certain to use a special sanitized extractor to prevent scarring. And to wash after you do this. Then use cold water and then a toner to close up the pores. Salicylic acid should prevent or minimize this in the future. Just use a mild, non drying formula. Drying formulas will just increase oil production and make matters worse.

I get those on my chin in the small crease under my lip. I have extracted them, use toner pore products, a chemical exfoliator...nothing gets rid of them for longer than a day or two. It's awful :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

oooh those things... =) first of all dont fret, it's nothing that you're doing that is horribly wrong with your diet, exercise or whatever. Like Buff mentioned it's sebum, trapped oil, dead skin cells and bacteria.  It happens to many of us regularly and for the most part it's something that you will have to deal with throughout life.

What can be done to try and minimize and hopefully rid of them would be the following:

1. Extract whenever you feel they are becoming a little overwhelming.

2. Wash your face twice daily, no need to scrub ferociously(it's like washing behind the ears, most of us tend to forget to do, so a little attention to those areas might help)

3. Candes mentions salycylic acid which would be good to dab on the problem area at this time or you could use Tea tree oil, dab it on with a q-tip to try and deter bacteria from accumulating in those areas.

lastly if you are using any kind of moisturizer before applying makeup make sure that it is a moisturizer that will help balance the oil levels on your facial skin, not just completely dry out your skin because you'll be counterprouctive against all the work we just did in steps 1-3
