Hi everyone!

So.... I figure here is where we can help each other choose colors!

For instance, if you are having a hard time deciding what color to get, just go to the store, swatch all the shades, take a pic and post it here. We'll help!

I'll go first!

Top to Bottom: A- (Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette) A1- Radiant Light A2: Incandescent Light A3: Dim Light, B- Ethereal Light, C- Diffused Light, D-Luminous Light.

Which do you think would look best on me as an all-over powder? I thought first Incandescent, but then I thought I wouldn't be able to use Dim or Radiant. So then I thought, maybe Ethereal or Diffused? Then I thought maybe Luminous. Then I thought Radiant might make a good blush. Now I just can't decide...... I want to get either 1 single shade or the palette.

What do you think?

Feel free to post your own pics to get help choosing colors for you!

I think it's going to depend on your undertones as to how much use you'll get out of the palette. You look like you have a bit more pink than me (MUFE 117 currently) but are roughly as fair and I find I can only use Dim light all over when I've got a tan. Both Dim & Radiant work for me as bronzers but I definitely prefer Radiant for that purpose. I'd say Diffused would probably be a nice every day powder on you and Ethereal would be more of a special occasion/I feel fancy today kinda powder?

In which case, I say go for the (Ethereal) glow!

I think Incandescent, Ethereal or Diffused.  Incandescent is the only one showing an effect on our skin in the photos.   So, it would depend on what you feel its doing for you in person.

I have Dim light and I have to go with a light hand or it looks like a bronzer. So, I am looking to get another one at some point as this is not a good all over powder for me.  I am light with pink undertone.  I am looking at the same three as an all over powder.  Ethereal and Diffused look like the won't change your foundation at all while Incandescent looks like it will had a bit of shimmer.

Let us know what you decide as I think it will help me decide as well.

Hey guys! Thanks so much for your help! I think I'm leaning towards Diffused, but I don't want to turn out too yellow. I have neutral undertones with pinky-red overtones, and my foundation does  a really good job of cancelling out redness.

I am kind of on the fence about Ethereal and Diffused now.... but leaning more towards Diffused.

I have taken some more pictures- this time of all the ambient lighting powders. I don't know if it'll change your minds, but I tried to get better lighting this time.

Also, I'm on the fence about getting the Hourglass ambeint blush palette- I don't really like the way they swatch, and I'm kind of leaning more towards Tarte Exposed... anyway, I did some blush swatches as well and have attached those. Let me know what you think would be best for me!

Thanks for the help, and don't forget- if you are having trouble deciding post here and we'll all give you some feedback!

Ethereal in this picture shows up better than your previous photos and looks nice.  I think this will be my next powder so, I may be a bit biased.

I like Luminous flush on you.  It looks like it would give you a nice well, flush.   The other two appear peach in the photos.

I have Tarte Exposed.  It is neutral but I found can look like a bronzer once again.  Great summer color.  I wanted a bit more pink on my cheeks as it got cooler so, I went with Doll face.  Not drastically different but leaning more pink.  I would say Fearless is my favorite swatched color for you.  I think our coloring may be similar.

Thanks for replying! I am actually thinking you're right about Ethereal. Plus, it's the first one I was drawn to back when they first came out. And another plus is I love that name. Ethereal. So poetic.

I appreciate your input! It's really helping me.

Are you going to swatch them and show us? Or are you just going for Ethereal anyway?

I also kind of liked Incandescent on me.... but I think it would be too shimmery for all-over.

Since you like Luminous Flush, that really makes me want to get the blush palette... because it would be such a good value for the money, and it's so pretty.... eugh, what to do?! Hahah!

I think what I'll do next to decide is go back to Sephora, and ask for a brush to use, and put Ethereal on one half of my face, and Diffused on the other, and see which one looks better.

This may be a little late but I use Ethereal as a finishing powder and it will lighten your skin a bit. Some girls use it to set under eye concealer for this reason. So, that's something to take in consideration. If you're looking for the best Ambient powder to use all over, every day, I would say it is Diffused Light. It has no reflect and although the yellow tone doesn't show up on your skin, it will help correct darkness and brighten your skin. I'd personally go with Diffused for an every day setting powder because I think it is probably the closest to "translucent" powder (despite the way Ethereal seems to look). :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Which ever you pick, don't worry if you don't like it the way you expected. I tried three different Ambient powders before I found that Ethereal Light blurred my pores and lightened my skin the way I wanted. Now I've learned how the other shades work for me, and I can use them better. It takes practice!
