Birchbox Product Category Preferences!

Did anyone else get an e-mail to try out their new beta product preferences? I'm so excited!

Every month we do our best to match you with products based on your profile from a mix of categories like body products, skincare and makeup. But we know that within these categories there are specific product types you are more interested in than others. To help us get you more of the product types you want, and less of those you don’t, we are testing a new tool called “[SIZE=15.5555562973022px]Prod[/SIZE][SIZE=15.5555562973022px]uct Category Preferences[/SIZE]”. The idea is simple: the more information we get from you, the better we can design your Birchbox. 

You have two options for each product type:

"Keep them coming": We'll do our best to get you access to as many samples of this type as possible over the course of the year. Please keep in mind some sample types are more scarce and aren't sampled frequently. So even if you choose this option, you might not see a product of this type for a while or at all.

"Max four per year": Choosing this option helps us know you have less interest in this type of sample. We'll cap the number of products you get in this group to four times a year.

I didn't get this.  I can't find it on my regular account (which is an Ace account) and it also didn't show up in the new account I created today, when I filled out the profile.  They must be rolling this out for a few people at a time.

I got the e-mail about the beta preferences today too. I filled it out right away. We'll see how it goes.

What categories have the selection option in the beta?

Thank you, @! Wow, that's quite the list. If they implement that to all accounts, I would resub, barring any budgetary issues.

I wish they had included mascara and food items, but it looks like a great start to better matching boxes to customers.
