Hey all,

I do not wear make up at all. I know nothing about make up. I bought my wife an urban decay palette one year for Christmas and she loved it......she also told me to buy it. BUT!!!! I would really like to surprise her this year without her saying anything to me. She already told me she wanted a facial from this spa. I hate giving gifts that are not surprises though. I tried surprising her last year with a sewing machine. I got her this cause once she said it would be cool to make her own clothes........well, its still in the box. I might actually use it for something.

Thanks to this site, i saw there is another urban decay naked on the run thingy. I am def gonna get that for her.

What else can I get her?!!

She has make up stuff everywhere. So i want to get her an make up organizer. This is top priority. not only would she like it but so would I :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Make up mirror? is there anything anyone would recommend?

and of course, Make up? what do I buy? Im pretty sure she likes it all. She buys a lot of stuff from sephora.

Gadgets? do they have make up gadgets?

Please be kind in your post...I know nothing about make up. and please be budget friendly

Hi there! Welcome! :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Urban Decay Naked on the Run is a GREAT starting point. That's a gift I think just about any lady would love to receive! Do you know if she likes bright colored eye shadows, or more of the neutral/'naked' colors?  Urban Decay also released the Vice 3 palette this season & they're releasing the Vice LTD palette on December 4th at midnight. Both of those have a pretty good mix of both colors and neutrals. And then for Cyber Monday they're going to have the Electric palette on sale for $35, which is a steal but that would only be if she really likes color!

Aside from Urban Decay, there are so many great gift items that are available this year! http://www.sephora.com/all-gifts

Does she have any other favorite brands that you know of? Or is she a big fan of any other products aside from eye shadow?

Sephora always puts together 'favorites' sets & those are usually some of my 'must purchase' items for the year. http://www.sephora.com/sephora-favorites?icid2=product_link_brand

If she's into lip products, this set would be fantastic: http://www.sephora.com/give-me-more-lip-P388550?skuId=1647205 --great mix of products, brands, and shades! There's also a smaller cheaper set here: http://www.sephora.com/give-me-some-lip-P388033?skuId=1634898. The Sephora Superstars set (http://www.sephora.com/superstars-P388551?icid2=Bestsellers_toplevel_sku_grid_P388551_image) is a little pricey but it's a mix of all different make up products & brands and it does container several full sized items.

Tarte is another pretty popular brand around here & they released a lot of great sets this year including this one: http://www.sephora.com/bon-voyage-collector-set-travel-bag-P388943?skuId=1633940

Great mix of products for the whole face - eye shadow, cheek stain (blush), mascara, lip gloss, etc.

Or this one from Too Faced:

Which also has a nice mix of different products.

As far as organizers, I think clear acrylic is probably the best route for makeup. It's fairly cheap & it's see through so she will still be able to see everything! I got most of mine via ebay or Amazon, but The Container Store has really great ones too.

Something like this with drawers would be really nice:

Or even something smaller like this could go on top of a vanity/counter:

Or a combination of both like this:

http://www.containerstore.com/shop/bath/cosmeticsOrganizers?productId=11000166&N=205

They have a whole section just for cosmetic storage & it's modular so you can kind of build your own.

Most makeup mirrors are pretty similar, in my opinion. You'll just want to make sure it has a light & magnification. I've had this one for a while & have been pretty happy with it: http://www.overstock.com/Health-Beauty/Conair-Oval-Chrome-1x-7x-Double-sided-Lighted-Mirror/4717886/product.html?refccid=IJ7ZZYED5HRIJ32ATSRCCFNMOE&searchidx=0

But I'm sure you could find something similar that's cheaper & it would still work just as well!

Hopefully that was more helpful than confusing, but if you still have questions/comments/whatever, just post here! There are tons of very friendly & helpful members here who would probably love to help!
