Hi!

I'm a skincare-obsessed, beauty junkie in my late 20s!

I'm always up for the most innovative, interesting and effective beauty products (mostly skincare) and always keep my eyes and ears open.

These days, I pay more attention to the ingredients and try to pick products that are more natural and effective, since I feel more and more reluctant to put chemical stuff on my skin.

So I'm eager to hear what are some of the most interesting, effective, unheard-of ingredients out there?

Cheers,

The NAE8 extract from the Oleander plant.  All natural and grown without using chemicals or pesticides.   It's a patented ingredient offering many benefits to the skin and body.

^I heard about that. There were quite a few research articles on there, but nothing was 100% conclusive (correct me if I'm wrong).

For me it has been the introduction to shea butter, never heard about it before I bought Monsia Skincare! Oh, and Moroccan Argan oil although it relates to my hair I do cheat and use it around my eyes at night.

Most interesting skincare ingredient that I've tried was hydroquinone. Its a central ingredient in the Extra Strength Medicated Fading creme I use from Clear Essence. I use this cream for my dark spots that I have from acne scars. I researched the ingredient and its the only FDA approved skin whitening ingredient in the U.S. so I figured its pretty potent. And so far so good. My dark spots have been fading with out over-whitening my skin. The creme actually is evening out my skin tone. Its great.

From my post above you can see that I am a great fan of shea butter and jojoba oil.   I am trying to make my own body/feet/hand cream using 4 ozs lanolin, 2 ozs unrefined shea butter + 2ozs jojoba oil & I would like to add hydroquinone to the mix, my question is what quantities did you use please, especially how much hydroquinone.

After trying so many Korean cosmetics, I don't think there's an ingredient that I consider interesting anymore. There are products with mayu (horse oil), camel and donkey milk, diamond powder, snake and bee venom, abalone extract, snail slime filtrate, pearl powder, 100-year-old ginseng root and other crazy things in my routine right now, haha :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

The most interesting one I have come across is snake peptide to think that some things in venom of viper snake can be so so powerful for your skin. I believe it was a Silvex Cosmetics serum that had it.

There are so many ingredients we probably rarely hear about!
