One more day and the Lilly Pulitzer collection goes on sale! I've been looking at the preview for days now trying to figure out what are the main things I want to get from this collection. Everything is so cute! I just ran across this post by the Zoe report on what are the must haves from this collection. http://thezoereport.com/lilly-pulitzer-for-target/

I think I'll try and get one of the dresses, some of the home items and some of the nail polishes also. It's just so hard to stick to a few items. I just hope it doesn't all sell out within a few hours and I'll have a chance to get some of the items I've been looking at.

Here is the link to the preview

I'm not particularly a Lilly Pulitzer fan, but that pink chevron bikini is calling to me...and I don't even like pink.

I'm not either but this collection looks cute with the colors they used (very Lilly Pulitzer). I've never bought Lilly Pulitzer items before because it's not really my style but find myself liking some items in this collection. I'm trying to branch out of my usual style and see how that goes. Some of the dresses look cute on the screen but probably don't look as cute on me.   :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20">

Some of the home items are really really cute too. I'd love to get a couple of the chairs for my deck, but I bet they cost an arm and a leg.

I looked at the chairs too and they were too expensive for my budget ($60). Really cute though! I don't think twice about dropping $60 on subscription boxes but a chair is another story. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20">  Although I have been cutting back lately on the boxes too.

Oh $60 is actually much less than I was expecting. I was thinking more in the $90 range. Still pricey for outdoor chairs though. But man they'd sure look cute from the parking lot.

Yeah, my deck faces the parking lot. They really thought that one through, didn't they?

Ahhhh I almost forgot all about this!  I know I want to get a couple scarves, the seahorse necklace, and a makeup case.

I want a dress, but unfortunately none of these dresses are cut to flatter my big ole boobies, so I'm going to pass on the dresses this time =(

It all sold out online so I didn't get anything I had planned. :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20"> Maybe I'll go to the Target by me today but I'm sure most of the items there have been sold out as well.

I did not get anything as I was asleep. Gosh I thought I might get bobby pins but even they were gone. I was sleeping and dreaming about it - you know when you dream about getting up for something you have to wake up for.

I kept scrolling through the lookbook but nothing ever jumped out at me. The headwraps were cute but I know I've seen similar items at Ulta.  This afternoon I went into Target craving Archer Farm mini cinnamon roll bites. All the Lilly stuff was gone. It looked as though they didn't stock more than a handful of items in each department. I guess I should be glad people don't like the same things I do, or cinnamon bites would be going for $20 on ebay right now.

Most of the stores don't stock a whole lot. I'm guessing they don't online either. The more "limited" it is, the bigger deal it is.

Things did not go as planned    I wasn't able to add anything to the cart online. I did buy a makeup bag for my sister and shorts for myself at the store.

I ended up going to the Target near me yesterday morning and got there just as they opened. The line was out the door wrapped around the building. Since I wasn't in line, I had to wait for the line to go in first. By the time I got to the section with the clothes, everything was taken with the exception of a tank top. I also got some flip flops. All the scarves were gone and most of the flip flops as well. I checked out the home wares section and it was all gone with an exception of beach towels which I didn't get. I ended up getting a few pieces for my daughter though. The kids clothes were going fast too but nothing like the women's and the home section. I grabbed a L'oreal Lip gloss that was part of the collection, it was the last one in color Nude Ballet. I was just beside myself how these women who got to the women's clothing first, grabbed everything and it was all gone within 30 seconds. I've never seen anything like it. Some people came to the women's section after me and were just amazed that it was all gone. This was all within 3-5 minutes of Target opening.

The whole thing seems like a publicity stunt. Target never meant to have enough supply to meet demand. I kind of hate both brands now.
I agree. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth. It was like a joke. At the Target near me, the amount on the racks was so slim to begin with (judging from the size of the empty racks) that even without all this hype they would have never lasted. The amount released was ridiculously small. They knew very well that it was not going to be nearly enough.

I really like the wavepool print and would have purchased one of those coverups - but all gone.  What happens is that people purchase it and I bet you will find it on ebay now, jacked up horribly.

it happens all the time

In all of the previous collabs with the exception of missoni (aka the weird stripey stuff), there were items on shelves for weeks. Some stuff ended up in clearance. This is how I ended up with both the blue and pink Jason Wu polka dot blouses.  I know the designers are not happy when stuff ends up on clearance but I think it's better than associating the brand with being a crazy rip off disaster.

Interesting adventure.  I ended up staying up until 3:30 am EST but the website never got past the Look Book (it seemed to work for others).  I hadn't meant to stay up so late but I hated quitting since I had invested so much time already ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />    I woke up before 7:00 am and thought what the heck ... I ended up putting a few things in my cart but by the time I was ready to check out everything but a pair of shorts had been sold out.  Again figuring what the heck I drove to my Target (less than a mile away) and at 7:30 was about the 30th person in line / by the time the store opened it was about 100 people.  I ended up with a tote, dress, blanket, towel, 2 dresses for my niece and hair ties.  At 8:09 I was driving away and there was nothing left so it took 9 minutes in total - crazy.  There was definitely not enough stock but people were pretty normal except for a few runners and people banging carts into each other :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I only noticed 1 college aged girl hoarding throw pillows (she must have purchased all of them b/c she had like 10 in a cart).

Thought the website traffic was poorly managed and that Target did a lousy job at planning quantities - they advertised the heck out of this thing and yet didn't stock up the stores nearly well enough.

I was able to get my seahorsey necklace, but not my makeup bag that I really wanted.  =(

I also grabbed a floppy hat with a scarf that I'm not sure if I'm going to like.  We'll see when it gets here on Friday, I guess!
