Hi guys, I'm the new kid on the block. Have always respected makeup, but although I've been doing my own makeup for the better of 20 years, I've recently realized how much I actually don't know!!!!!!! *gasp!!*
Up until this very year, I thought foundation, concealer, and eyeshadow were all there was to makeup!!! ...I know right, I should hang my head in major shame!
About a decade ago I added exfoliating to my routine, and about two years ago moisturizer!
Well.... my routine is much bigger and better now. I'm actually starting to get an attitude at Sephora because of how frequently I'm there asking for skincare samples. First of all, I'm a cruelty-free buyer so that narrows down my selection. Secondly, I'm very picky about finding things that work!!! Please don't say you're an exfoliator if you don't exfoliate!!!!! I hate that! I've been through at least six exfoliators that did not exfoliate, I'm so peeved. So, anyway, if they offer samples then it shouldn't be so taxing to get them, otherwise I'm the return/exchange type and I'd still be there constantly.
So. Yes. It's late in the game for me, I wish I'd gotten into this ten or more years ago, but better late then never.
I suffered sun poison at 13. So, now I have scarred skin and damage spots that I hate. The spots are my enemy. I can't seem to cover them up good enough and have yet to find a makeup counter that is effective either.
I'm considering a formal education in makeup but I'm not sure it's a good career move. I want to know all the tricks where makeup is concerned, more for myself than for using it to work in a "competitive" job. But I love makeup and there are so many things I want to learn.
