Most Expensive box?

Just wondering what people would be prepared to pay for a beauty box.

Caroline Hurons (beauty blogger) is releasing a limited edition beauty box in connection with Cult Beauty. The box will contain 6 full sized products plus 2 samples and ship for free worldwide. The cost?

£140!

The contents are meant to be worth over £200 so, would you pay this amount for a box that you didn't know the full content list or have you seen a box that is more expensive than this?

(I'm not ordering the box as can't justify spending that amount on products I've never tried before)

I think some of the Pop Sugar Limited Edition boxes ( thinking mainly of the Neiman Marcus boxes) are more expensive; IIRC they're around 250 USD, so not much more. 

I wouldn't spend that kind of money on cosmetics I'd never tried before, either!

I will generally buy the limited edition holiday versions of any higher company, because at that time of year it's nice to have gifts on hand for unexpected company, and the items are usually decent quality. But I've cancelled almost all my subs, because I have Too Much Stuff.

I've never heard of this blogger so I had to google and now I'm curious what will be in the box.  I signed up for the waitlist because it looks interesting. 

Just a quick follow up,  I got an email that pre-orders are open to waitlisted group. While it is expensive it looks like Caroline did a good job curating this box.  Sorry I don't know how to attach a picture but here is a list of the contents:

The Svbscription women's sub is usually in the $500 - $600 range per box. I did that once and loved the contents, it was all lifestyle items and no makeup or skincare.

@@PrettyAndWitty for a lifestyle box that would be ok though DH would freak if I spent that on ANY box...LOL!!

I loved Svbscription! It was like getting a quarter's worth of all my subs rolled into one box.

Isn't it ironic how slippery of a slope sub boxes can be? I remember thinking that $50 was a crazy amount to spend on a mystery box and now I don't bat an eye at $150 for Oui Please. Granted I still don't have my April Oui Please but that's a story for another thread....

A few years ago Net-A-Porter had a box for over $250. I don't think it was recurring though, which might not meet your criteria. It was a very luxurious box, much more so than anything else I've ever bought.
