Has anyone tried the new subscription box company called Code Red Crate? It is for women during "that time of the month". They not only include your necessity's for that time but also beauty and pampering products to make your time of the month a little bit better. I have considered ordering one but wanted to get a few more ladies opinions on it. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

That's pretty much the standard time of the month box formula - supplies plus beauty/pampering items. What's the price point? We've tried many but ultimately my daughter got bored with it and it was cheaper to buy tampons and pads ourselves.

The price ranges from 10 to 30 dollars they have 4 different sized boxes. The reason I'm interested I never seem to have time or am very forgetful when it comes to buying products. Plus about that time I get the munchies like you wouldn't believe and to have that and more delivered to my door might be worth the price.

I mostly got turned off when I started receiving knock off cosmetics and in one instance, counterfeit M*A*C*. It's nice to have the products delivered for sure but it can be difficult with some services getting their deliveries to line up with your cycles. Or in my house, 3 different cycles, lol. I've been burned by several start up subs so I'm a bit more gun shy about subbing to an unknown without a recognizable sponsor. One other thing to consider, and this is a matter of personal comfort and preference, is that all but one of the time of the month boxes send repackaged supplies, meaning they buy in bulk then break down large boxes for each sub box so the tampons and pads will arrive not in their original packaging. That never bothered us since they're sealed anyway but I know some women didn't care for that aspect. For us once the novelty wore off we realized we were just paying for the extras since we'd always have to buy products in between deliveries. The pampering items were nice but definitely not worth $15-$25 each month.

I've tried two. Avalai and code Red crate. And Avalai just upped their price to $25 (including shipping). I really like the professional packing and look of Avalai. I know Code Red Crate is a mom and daughter so I don't expect that of them but I have to admit Avalai wins in that respect.

I think if I was to do it again (and I'm sure I will, I really like the idea) I would get one of the middle subscriptions of Code Red Crate. There was SO MUCH in the large size that I felt overwhelmed. But I do like that you can pick your brands.

So you get more with code red but avalai seems more professionally put together. I should try a couple others just to get a better idea of what I prefer.

@@Fashion Diva which others did you try and which one came with boxed product?

I have tried a couple time of the month boxes but I have to say I prefer the Code Red Crate! I was able to pick my exact type of feminine products and they provide you with more then enough to get you through your cycle. I am a stay at home mom that doesn't drive and to have what you need for that time of the month delivered to me each month is amazing! Code Red Crate not only supplied me with my feminine products but snack foods that I will actually eat and so far they have provided more of the pampering/spa items then the make up. Me personally, I do not like receiving make up from a that time of the month subscription box, I have make up subscription boxes for that. They also included a homemade reusable heating pad that I really enjoy using! I think its definitely worth it!

@@Saffyra - I want to say it was Le Parcel. That was several years ago so I'm not sure they still do it that way.

I'm not keen on getting food in my monthly cycle box; I have lots of other subs for that. It's certainly a different approach to this kind of sub box but it's just not for me. And definitely not for my girls (food allergies/picky eaters). All of the subs in this genre I've tried (at least 4 different ones) send a customized mix of pads and tampons, offer brand selection options and always include more than enough feminine supplies. In terms of price point it may be a tougher sell compared to competitor boxes that are generally priced in the $14 range for a full monthly supply plus extras, depending how the pricing is structured with this new one. It would need to include something pretty special to pay up to $30/month for period supplies. That's within a few dollars of a PopSugar box, that doesn't include, um, consumable supplies. So if someone gets a box I'll be interested to see how things look. The one we liked best of all those we tried was Bonjour Jolie. If the girls ever express an interest again I would re-sub in a minute since it was a great value at $15.
