Okay Ladies, I need your help!

It's my 25th Birthday within the week so I decided to do a makeup haul for myself. I wanted to add some nice makeup pieces to my collection that I wouldn't normally want to spend the money on. I have zero high end products (crazy, I know) and really want to get some things that I'll love.

What are your recommendations?

I guess that would depend on what you are looking to add.. and at what price point.. the Estee Lauder zodiac compacts are lovely. I would suggest testing out some products from Chanel (cheek and lip), Guerlain (bronzers), Tom Ford (everything), YSL (lip), Lancome (everything). Sit down with the artists and tell them what you are looking for and they will make the best suggestions for your skin tone and type.

I second Estee Lauder, Guerlain, YSL, Chanel, Tom Ford. They are all great. I also like some Bobbi Brown and Laura Mercier items. My latest favorite is Jouer. I really like the quality of Jouer makeup. If the sky was the limit, I would love to own all Tom Ford makeup. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20">

I agree also! The more I use from LM, the harder I fall!

I've been in love with artistry! It's hard to find because you have to buy it directly through a representative, but I actually am a rep now which makes it easier! I added a link below if you want to check it out!

Thanks so much everyone! I'm not too big on foundation and find myself using a BB cream, if anything. I guess I gravitate towards eye makeup. I could probably use some nicer blushes and lipsticks though. I'll definitely check out all of these suggestions.

My #1 high end product that I own is my Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel bronzer. I got the actual bronzer, not the cream base that can be hard to work with; the bronzer is absolutely fabulous! It adds the perfect amount of color for a beautiful healthy glow, and literally NEVER look orange or muddy. It is also a matte bronzer, so it can be used to contour as well if you like.

Ooh that sounds like a great bronzer! I'll have to add it to my wish list now. :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20"> Thanks for the info! I used a Chanel bronzer a few years go but haven't tried this one.

Before you get anything, it's always nice to check out some reviews first, since high-end brands sometimes have some miss products  / aren't as good as certain items (e.g., Dior and their eyeshadows), even if most of their products are great. I really like the Givenchy and YSL lipstick formulas (and the packaging!). Tom Ford's packaging on the summer collection is so gorgeous, and it would be nice to get it while it's available.

I don't know how large your makeup collection is and what exactly you're trying to add, but it might also be worth getting more items at mid-high-end brands. Some things that would be really nice additions that come to mind are an Hourglass blush or Ambient Lighting powder, Charlotte Tilbury eye palette or lipstick, NARS bronzer, etc. Still pricey, but you could get more use from two really nice things, than one at a really high price.

That's really good advice. I think that's the approach I'm going with too. My collection is pretty basic right now, so anything that's of higher quality than drugstore is an improvement at this point.

I am totally obsessed with the Clinique Cheek Pops! There is definitely a shade to fit everyone.

If you're going to invest, make sure it's an item you will really get some use out of. For me, I put my money into high end eyeshadows and usually go drugstore for most other stuff. I do love It Cosmetics CC cream and Bye Bye Pores though :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Since you mentioned you are looking for high end eye shadows, my all time favorite palette is the Laura Mercier Artist Palette for Eyes #2.  It was originally a limited edition holiday release, but they recently brought it back to Sephora under the name "Eye Art Artist's Palette".  It is AMAZING, it's definitely my desert island palette pick.

I definitely recommend Lancome blush subtil palettes; They have blush, contour, and highlighter and the quality is great. For the lipstick Lancome Rouge in Love series has beautiful creamy texture and stays on long. You may also like Nars blushes and highlighters.

I have heard great things about basically everything from Lancome. I need to just pick something up already.

I agree, you can't go wrong with Lancome. I use most of what they make and from skin care to make-up all are wonderful.

I can't wait to see your haul. Please let us know ;) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Happy birthday!
