Hi :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I went shopping for foundation yesterday and I saw some primers and BB creams. I'm not a fan of makeup. It seems heavy on my face and I'd like to go with no makeup more often but my face isn't exactly ok. I have acne scars and a diffciult skin (either oily or dry, but never normal). Sometimes it seems like I don't even have the same color everywhere :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />) It looks slightly different in some areas.

So I have to wear makeup and my skin is a nightmare because it seems dry when I put my foundation (my face just doesn't feel smooth..even if I use moisturizer) and then oily after a few hours. I especially hate when I see my face shiny. I always choose foundation for oily skin.

Now..I don't know much about BB creams and almost nothing about primers. I don't know which one is the best for me and I don't want both because,as I said, makeup seems to be heavy on my face. As much as I hate my acne scars I don't want too much makeup.

I just want something that can smooth my skin before I put foundation and which can also cover a little of my imperfections. But at the same time I want it to be light, not heavy.

Would you go for a primer or a BB?

Hi!

BB creams are great for light coverage. Some cover more than others. I prefer BB creams for summer time and foundations for other times. I've found that the Korean brands (Dr. Jart etc) and Dior have the greatest coverage. I haven't tried Tarte but it seems to get great reviews. I layer the BB creams with powder to set it and have to touch up later in the day with powder as well. BB creams aren't like long lasting foundations that last longer but don't feel as heavy on the skin either. I prefer BB creams especially when it's hot even though I have to touch up later in the day. Primers are great for oi control and for helping the foundation stay put longer. Urban Decay and Tarte has primers as well as oil control setting powders that can't be used with foundations and with BB creams. Urban Decay also has a makeup setting spray and is suppose to help the makeup stay fresh longer. If you are looking for fuller coverage, then primer, foundation and setting powder is the way to go. If you want something lighter then BB creams are great but the coverage isn't as much and they don't last as long during the day without touch ups. Either way you most likely have to touch up. Using Oil blotting papers are great too to removed excess oiliness during the day. They make the skin matte and make it feel more refreshing. When my skin was more oily, I liked using the blotting papers for refreshing makeup later in the day. All you need is a powder on top and you are good to go. Hope this helps and hope others have tips for you too.
