I am sure everybody knows what I mean if I say I look like the grumpy cat and what is my biggest issue on my face... I have big circles under my eyes and "grumpy cat" is the new nickname given by my coworkers... at the begining it was just a joke but now they keep calling me like this and it really bothers me. I am a eyecare cream addict and I tried dozens of different brands but most of them are greasy or oily after hours or just useless.. Which one did you use and which one would you recommend me or not?

Actually there are so many reasons to get dark circles under the eyes. Maybe you need to drink more or lack of sleep or you don't use sunscreen on the areas around your eyes. In this link you can find many causes and ways helping you to remove dark circles. Sometimes, I also have dark circles but not that much since I find some easy way to get rid of them: before sleeping, I lay down on my sofa during 15 minutes and I put a mix of cucumber and lemon juice or tea on my eyes area with a pad and I put an eyecare cream when before going to bed I put an eyecare cream. It also helps me to release all the stress out and to sleep better. You can find some DIY tips on this link. I also spent a lot of money on eyecare creams and indeed most of them were just a waste of money...) like the Lancôme asbolue eye premium which burns your eyes or the Clarins Super-Restorative Total Eye Concentrate which is too sticky and has a bad smell. The eyecream I like the most is the SKII signature eye cream ) but I can't afford it anymore because I save money for Christmas. Then now I use the IASO Total eye care concentrate ex which is cheaper but it does the same good job on my eyes.

Most of the creams out there are a waste of money and the only way to go is natural :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> As above, cucumber works well. Cut up a couple of slices and use before going to sleep. You could also try argan or rose hip oil. Which are both great for dark circles under your eyes.

That being, said if the problem is a lack of sleep then no amount of products are going to help. It could also be stress related.

Hi @@Adelee!

Agreeing with the others sleep and some types of things help a little bit, but if it is hereditary I feel your pain, nothing can really take away that. When I was younger people actually used to think that I was sick all of the time because of my dark circles, and that is when I started to go into makeup to try and cover them with my mom's concealer.

Anyways, I actually just posted a huge thing about this here https://www.makeuptalk.com/f/topic/138588-need-recommendation/ , so I will just link it so I don't sound like a broken record!

Good luck!

I have a few tricks that might help.

Massaging your eyes in a circular motion towards your nose. A lot of people massage their eye cream outwords to the temples but that actually makes your eyes puffier and darker as the lymph under your eyes is drained at the bridge of the nose. So massaging it with some jojoba oil (just a couple of drops) at night will help decongest and brighten your eyes.

I also use an AHA exfoliant every other night and it also helps to brighten up this area. My personal favorite is the Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Toner.

Drinking a lot of water will also help detoxify and brighten that area.

Hope it helps.

Your method of massaging makes so much sense!

I started using Monsia Skincare in Dec 2014 and I have noticed that my age spot has lightened by 50%, slow but steady. The toner, day and night moisturizers all have hyaluronic acid as an ingredient. On the occasional morning when I waken with a slight darkness under my eyes I simply cleanse, tone and apply my day moisturizer and by the time I have had breakfast the puffiness seems to disappear along with the slight darkness. It could just be the face kind of re-adjusts and falls into place but I think the hyaluronic acid helps.
