So my skin is just a plain mess. It s dry and flaky but at the same time produces oil like crazy. It s also EXTREMELY sensitive, especially on my cheeks which tend to get really red and inflamed for no reason sometimes. My forehead, which is prone to breakouts, and my nose both have pretty flaky skin. The foundation that I m using now is by dermablend and while it s definitely the best foundation that I ve found so far (after trying bareminerals, the porefessionals, covergirl, and maybeline) it still isn t great. It doesn t do a great job of evening out the redness on my nose and forehead and when I m done applying it, my flaky skin shows through kind of badly. The cleanser and moisturizer I m using are both recommended to me by a dermatologist so I feel like they re pretty good. I just want a foundation that s going to provide better coverage and maybe not show off my flaky skin so much. Some of the foundations that I ve seen recommend create a dewy look, but I prefer a more matte finish (which my current foundation is) because of my oily skin.

Also, the price of the foundation isn't really a big deal. I'd rather pay $60 for quality foundation than $15 for okay foundation.

It looks like you have a combination skin type, you can try Nars foundation line. I'd suggest you to use Nars sheer glow foundation its really good plus its not that expensive either. You can google around for nars all day luminous or sheer glow reviews, try them I hope you would love it.

Welcome to MUT @@dobiegerl! Have you tried primers with your foundation? A primer helps the foundation to go on more smoothly and even out the skin which helps with flakiness. Do you use an exfoliator? Exfoliating regularly (1-2 a week) helps the skin by removing the dead skin cells. My absolutely favorite foundation is Guerlain Lingerie De Peau foundation. It's expensive but it works great and lasts a long time for me. It's about the only foundation I've repurchased. I really like Dior and Chanel foundations too. They seem to work well. I like Estee Lauder Doublewear too because it lasts really well through out the day and the coverage is great. Lancome Dual Finish is a great powder foundation if you like powder foundations. I find that applying a powder foundation with a big brush gives a more natural look.

I had a similar problem with dry and flakey skin...i found using a foundation with a serum helped big time. I use boujois healthy mix serum foundation after my normal skin care routine. When i used this foundation i found it very mositurizing with its serum formulation. Serums usually help with dry skin giving your skin the moisture its lost. Hope this product is of help

Both exfoliating and moisturising are key to a happy face! I've been using this double truffle moisturiser for the past year, was recommended by close friend. She too suffered from combination skin, and i often had flaky spells during the colder months. I swear by it now, all ingredients are natural which i find is far more delicate on the skin. I apply once in the morning and again at night after treating myself to a deep clean, I was one for forgetting to remove my make up back in the day, I have learnt from my mistakes. That too can cause dry and angry skin.
