I have oily skin and because of it, I have acne and scars. I have consulted many dermatologists and took medicines like clindamycin, clinique face wash, etc. to get rid of acne and scars but there is no change in it. One of my friends asked me to go for laser skin resurfacing from Beauti-med in Port Coquitlam. But I wonder will there be any problem in future if I undergo any kind of laser treatment now? Is the result permanent? I have no idea about the procedure but heard mixed reviews about it. Does anyone here had done this procedure? How was your experience? Is it safe to get laser treatment? I'm only 19 years old.

Hello. I had problems with my acne, severe, years ago. I now only have redness from old spots.

Laser treatment for acne is expenssive, depends on the dermatologist, dont trust an institut without medical care (without a doctor's opinion).

Try to use chemical peeling, is a simple an quick treatment, the doctor will see your scars etc and decide how strong the peeling would be.

Remember, chemical peeling applies only on scaring and not on pimples! Your skin has to stop producing sebum, then u will go to peeling treatment,to fade your scars.

Another safe method to get rid of pimples actually is to stop consuming dairy in your diet.

Then you will have only scars, not pimples, and u will be in that situation that u will fade scars by peeling in yr dermatologist.

Is by fruit acids..you have to stay at home and wear sunscreen. Just be careful with the acids.

Another option is to buy bha creams to acheive the same results at home.

Proper laser skin resurfacing is safe and can lead to excellent results, if you have a good doctor, but like Devotee said it is very expensive. (From my personal experience, maybe over $2k ) My opinion is to try all the methods that are less invasive first and only when you see that there is no effect using any other safe  method, then think about taking more drastic measures. I also suggest you to try micro-needling (derma rolling)

Have you tried other options first?  Yes, it is fairly safe, but they can't guarantee the results you want and it is expensive.  Have you tried natural products?  I didn't have any results with the chemical laced products.  I use coconut oil, acv, ora's amazing herbal face powder scrub and face oil serum, shea moisture black african acne wash, etc. and have much better results!
