Hello all,
How are you? hope you are all doing fine
I need your help caring for my skin while pregnant.
My skin is becoming so sensitive and itchy and I don’t know what to use
My doctor told me that I am allowed to use non medicated creams but I don’t know what is best
Also anything for stretch marks?
Can you please help me?

Are you talking about something for your face here, or full body?

To help prevent and lessen the look of stretch marks you can use Palmer's for stretch marks, but you have to be pretty religious about it - at least twice a day and DO NOT it scratch stretch marks, whatever you do!

My friend kept using her Clean and Clear skin products, but she took them straight to her doctor to make sure it was okay. I would suggest buying whatever you normally use and taking it to him so he can check ingredients and on just to be on the safe side.

I would use a gentle cleanser like Cetaphil. Add baking soda once a week to make a scrub. If your facial skin is dry, apply a thin layer of Vaseline.

Make sure you use a good SPF of 30 every day on your face.

You may develop a "mask of pregnancy" as the pregnancy continues. Will look like brown splotches or liver spots on your face. Not all ladies get them but some do.

As far as stretch marks, nothing can prevent them.

Try to limit your weight gain to 30 lb - including the baby.

(so you won't stretch your skin more than you have to)

And Congratulations on the pregnancy!

Thank you all for your replies

I need care for my whole skin not only the face

strech marks and itching ohhhhhhhh it is so hard not to itch i do my best but sometimes i just can't help it

cyw thank you

Aveeno Lotion with Oatmeal or any body products with oatmeal should help with the itching. I used Palmers Cocoa Butter Lotion formulated for stretch marks when I was pregnant and didn't get ANY! It worked great for me!

Im a big burts bees fan and they just came out with a few new products made especially for pregnant women. One is a belly butter, another leg and foot creme, and the last one is nourishing oil with vitamin E. I think you will be pleased if you try them, I am ususally satisfied with everything I buy from the company. They also have a section for babies called baby bee, and I use the products from there..and im not a baby. They are great! The lotions make your skin so soft, and im sure they would help with your itching..and the vitamin e oil would also help the itch. Since ive been using burts bees lotion I never have dry skin anymore. (I use the buttermilk baby lotion)

Heres a review for the oil with vitamin E.

"I Just wanted to let ya'll know how much I love the Vitamin E Oil. I've just had a baby 4 months ago and am suffering with terrible stretch marks. I've been putting the oil on the marks twice per day and have noticed a reduction in the appearance of the marks. Thanks so very much!!!!!!"

Heres the link to the site, once there go under the "baby bee" section.

COCONUT OIL!!! Wear it daily in your belly to avoid stretch marks it will also help moisturize and make your skin stretchier.

During my pregnancy, I was using Garnier Micellar water for cleansing, and some light creams to moisture, without any heavy ingreadients... You can't go wrong using natural oils as well.

I use Egyptian Magic for chest and belly to prevent stretch marks and The Body Shop body balms for the rest of the body.
I had to get rid of everything with salicylic acid and high amounts of caffeine (like cellulite creams), other than that I continue using my regular skin care items. One special thing I had to add since the beginning of my pregnancy is The Body Shop pure tea tree oil for the break-outs. I use it as a spot treatment on zits and it works wonders.
