I bought one of the paints a few days ago, it was the lightest shade, can't remember the name at the moment. It went on pretty smooth, I tried using the brush that came with it and also my finger tips, both worked well. I have never used mac paints so I can't compare, but it did make my shadows bright as hell and they didn't crease. Oh and you get more product in the loreal one. HTH.
