If you come to my country, you should speak my language. No where else in the entire world can a group of people come into a country and *demand* that the official language be expanded to include the one they wish to use. Conversational English should be mandatory in order to become a US citizen (for those who are of age, of course-- children wouldn't be included in this group.)

Secondly, I also believe that Americans should be given FIRST opportunity to achieve the "American Dream" as opposed to those who have immigrated here (with the exception of those who have immigrated due to adoption by an American family). Immigrated minorities should not be given special grants to start a business, to become independently wealthy, to achieve the "American Dream", to go to college, etc. What about Americans?

Affirmative Action should be abolished as it does *nothing* to benefit minorities but, moreover sets them up for even increased failure.

Race should not be an issue to determine who gets a job, who gets into a college/graduate school, etc. There should be one standard and if one meets that standard, regardless of the color of his/her skin, one should be allowed to do whatever it is that standard is set up for (getting a job, getting into law school, etc.)

Please don't think for one moment I am a racist. My oldest two children are adopted and are not biologically related to me. My oldest daughter belongs to a minority group-- she is Korean. My son is "caucasian" but he is Ukrainian and anyone from or familiar with the Eastern Bloc countries can tell that he is "not from America" (although most Americans who aren't familar with the "Eastern Bloc look" say he looks just like my husband!)

Abortion, under any circumstance, should be abolished.

I believe that *all* child molesters should be put to death and do not deserve a trial. The method of death and execution of such should be determined by the victim or the victim's family and should be executed swiftly. Child molesters are virtually completely and totally unable to be rehabilitated, EVER. I believe child abusers should be put through what they subject their victims to. If death ensues, so be it.

I believe that we should have the freedom to choose which milk, dairy and nuts we wish to consume. If one wishes to buy pasteurized, homogenized milk, one is able to do that. By the same token, if I wish to consume unpasteurized, non-homogenized (aka "raw milk"), raw dairy (sheep milk, goat milk, raw cheese, yogurt, kefir, etc.) I should be able to *readily* do so without it being illegal. It should be freely available in the grocery. If I want to drink it straight from the udder, I should be able to do so without having to own a "share of the cow". (And yes, in order to get our raw milk, we bought shares of cows and a corporation, on the basis of a technicality!)

I'm sure some of my opinions are hugely unpopular. But they are mine, I stand by them and fully embrace them

Warmly,

beaglette
I don't think you should banish one thing to favor the another. The correct thing to do is teach both things and let the family or the person, not the school decide what to believe.

If you abolish the theory of evolution, you're segregating those who doesn't have a religion (or choose one that doesn't follow the Christian belief) - and that's prejudice - because you're dismissing another point of view . As well as the people that only teach the theory of evolution and dismiss the Christian beliefs as being silly. To me it's double standarts to allow only Christian beliefs, without thinking that there's might be other people who doesn't share the same religion, and complain if a school only allows teaching the Darwin theory.

Almost every culture and every religion has its own beliefs on how everything started.

About the other things, i won't get into the discussion because it's not my field. But as a scientist i gotta talk about that. I firmly believe that you shouldn't favor one thing on top of the other - and that you CAN't force your opinion on another person - either if it's a 'scientific' thing, like the Darwin theory or the christian belief, or any other belief.
