Did you know that carmine is in foods for its coloring? I think that is interesting. Hmmmmm......carmine doesn't sound too bad but suppose they had to list on the ingredients pulverised beetles. Ha!! I actually myself am not oppposed to carmine. Bugs are protein and low in fat. Supposedly they provide antioxidant qualities as well. Next thing you know there will be carmine pills for antioxidants. LOL. kidding, but I am not a vegetarian so it am ok with it.
