Bargain brushes

Michaels (the craft supply store) is having a 40% off sale on their Loew Cornell brushes. They come in a variety of synthetics and some natural hair, good for eyeshadow application and eyeliner. I got the idea of using these type of brushes from watching a You Tube video of mineral makeup application by a gal who uses these type of art supply brushes, she goes by the name of momof2angels. This same gal has numerous absolutely beautiful pictures on the aromaleigh mineral forum that are exquisite and she is bar none the best at applying mineral eyemakeup. Although most of her looks are a bit more intense than I would wear for day, her techniques can be applied even when using more subdued neutral colors. The pics on the aromaleigh website are very closeup so you can see the detail and colors of the finished look even better than on the videos, but watch the vids so you can learn her technique. When she first starts to apply you will likely think the application is too heavy, too severe but by the time she is done it is blended well and looks fantastic!

Also, Michaels has a variety of plastic dishes and paint trays that are good for mixing and loading your brushes. I normally use a small glass Pyrex bowl to swirl my brush in but it is a pain when traveling (potential for breakage. They also have a product (called Buddy Cups I think) that has twelve small individual plastic airtight containers that look like they would be great to put some powder mineral makeup in for travel ($4).
