I want to say that I don't know ANY software developers/programmers who have a life... It's a stressful-lock yourself in a cube-24 hour on call job.
by the way, those yearly salaries are awful!!! I couldn't afford any of those averages in my neck of the woods- that isn't rewarding, that's stressful.
Teachers in my area start at above $45k and average $60k a year. If you decide to teach, move here.
