Favre isn't the only athlete that has decided to come out of retirement, after only a year or two of leaving the game.

I'm curious why they didn't think their retirement through a bit before leaving.
Did they not manage their money properly, are they narcissists and thinks that only they can play the sport, or are they missing the applause and accolades?
These guys are not as conditioned as the younger players and an injury can take them a lot longer to heal from.

If they want to come out of retirement, that is their perrogative. But I don't know which is sadder - an athlete retiring past their prime. Or an athlete that wants to make a comeback from retirement, and fails.
