Washer Died Again!!

Posted 04-30-2008 at 08:10 PM by Karren_Hutton
Just got in the door and my wife hits me with "the washing machine quit again". Ohh goodie!!! Lol

Its probably 15 years old and so far I've rewired the control panel.... Actually taking a circuit board out of the system... And funny it still works fine without it?? Wonder what it was supposed to do? Lol. I also changed all the rubber stabilizers with homemade ones I made out of bungie cords... Look like crap but do a better job and don't break! Had issues with the water level indicators...

But today it was different.. The control knob wouldn't push in.... Or out.. So I ripped into it, don't even have screws on the control panel anymore! Now when I opened it up... Plastic pieces fell out.. Never a good sign. So I checked it over good and found that the whole control knob - timer mechanism had broken off from its holders on one side...

The other side had a metal clamp and a screw so I went out in the garage and found a piece of scrap metal and put it into the vice and beat it into an S shape... Drilled a hole on on end and grabbed a screw driver, my box of spare screws and some RTV... Luckily there was a hole in the frame and I found a self taping screw that fit close enough.. I screwed on the S clamp and added a daps of the RtV... Reinstalled the panel and it worked like a charm...

I keep trying to get her to buy a new dryer washer set but she won't.. The only nice thing about this one is its pretty simple to diagnose and repair myself.. And I fear the newer models ya have to be a computer tech to fix them... Ohh welll

I love to fix things.... Kind of a hobby... Not as much fun as makeup though.. Lol!!

Girl Watching

The wife and I were at the mall at noon and walking around looking at things for the son's BD.... And there were quite a few girls wearing dresses today... one had on this nice LBD (Little BROWN Dress) but had calf height grey boots that didn't go together at all.... Another one had on the sweet black shift dress with wide white trim on the hem, neck and sleves... and it was really really really short..... It was very classy.... I think she works at one of the large department stores....

Funny too this couple in front of us, he was pushing a stroller and she was walking slightly ahead of him..... When this really tall good looking girls in a short dress walked by the other way.... he did a double take that was so blatent that he almost lost control of the stoller and almost hit his wife... hahaha She didn't see him do that and he corrected the stroller just a second before he would have run her over... Bet she would have kicked his ass big time if she was looking.... "What the F#*@ are you lookin at??"

And walking around looking today I also notice a lot of girls checking out other girls... not the guys. They pretty much ignore the guys. which I find a bit amusing because I like to check out the girls too... but I don't check out guys at all.... Who cares what they are wearing!! Not me!!! hahaha I do love to girl watch.... just not for the same reasons most guys do.... Ok maybe a little of the same reasons but more enhanced reasons!!!

Damn she looks hot in that dress!!! Wonder where she bought it?

Kids!!

Posted 04-29-2008 at 07:16 AM by Karren_Hutton
So my wife and I got to the high school and meet with the GC and they bring in his math prof... Well my son is a problem child... Always has been.. Super smart! High IQ . Super SAT scores got him into college, accepted and through orientation before he got out of HS... That's assuming he's graduating!!

He is failing math... And unless he gets a great grade in the 4th semister and on his final... He's not graduating... He scores high on his test.. But he doesn't hand in homework or class work... He does his home work, I make sure of it but he doesn't hand them in?? How dumb is that? Do the work and not get credit for it!!

All year I've been trying to get him to hand in stuff.. But in school I have no control... So last month I met with the math prof and my son and we set up times for him to come in after class and work on homework.. And class work and hand them in.. I email his prof every Monday to find out how he's doing and get a heads up on what's coming up that week... Sad to be doing for a senior in HS but its the only thing that's working..

So were setting in the GC office and the math prof walks in... He now has a B+ and maybe an A after this last test... Its working!!!

His bigest problem besides not handing stuff in is showing his work!! He will blow through a problem and do it on the calculator and hand it to me to check! Where's your work? Damn!! And showing the units.. Nothing. Half the time you don't need any equations if you know what the units of the answer and the components.. Newtons and Kg-M/sec squared... Vs momentum at Kg-M/sec. And torque at Kg-m. Easy stuff if you show your work and keep track of your units!! Drives me crazy!!

Wait till he gets in college and I won't be around to help!! Sink or swim time... I just hope he gets out of HS......

Hey everyone!
This is my first blog. Unfortunately, I don't really have anything to say tonight! I went on a lovely walk earlier with my boyfriend and our dog, Meatball (the one hiding under my dress in my avatar!!!).

I think it is time to clean this bedroom. Is it bad that I still have some Christmas stuff laying around??? *sigh*

Love, Elaine

I love The Doors........

But anyway... I was shopping for a laptop for the son's BD........ Graduation, Christmas........St Pattys Day....... Lol. At Circuit City and I was playing with this HP tablet pc.. Which he wants... Very few people and no SA's around? Very quiet....... Wierd...

But I was putting it through its paces when two guys walked behind me....... "........... Yeah....... I don't think they have any touch screen pc's here..... Ohhhh there's one!". So I strike up a conversation... We are chatting about how Best Buy doesn't have any... And this one is pretty slick.. And fast... Has hand wrtiting recognition built in... Yack yack yack....

And one of them says "yeah I think hed like one of those cause he can't type very well.................. Cause he's been in prision for 8 years..... Just got out.......".

Huh?

"Yeah since he went in to prision, and just got out, technology really changed...".

Ahhhh yeah......... That's a long time technology wise..

Hmmmmmmm

So they kind of wander away....... And finally leave the store...... Wonder what he was in for? My luck is was robbing Circuit City's? Hahaha

Well I bought the laptop.. Got an almost free all-in-one printer... The son should like it.. If he doesn't its mine!!!

Hope they didn't follow me home!!!
