I Walked 3 Miles Today!

Posted 05-20-2008 at 12:02 PM by KatJ
Oh my goodness. After a month of my neighbor and I talking about how much we needed to walk, we finally went to Walmart today to get her a stroller for her daughter. We seriously walked down our whole street, all 1.5 miles of it. Let me tell you, I'm so proud of us! We didnt go to sleep until like 3 this morning because we sat around last night drinking. Yep, woke up at 8:45 this morning with a hangover, and we still managed to go 3 miles. That amazes me.

And if you dont believe me, I got 3 blisters to prove it, lol. I really need some decent running/walking shoes.

Oh, and our pool opens on the 24th!

Takeaways

Posted 05-20-2008 at 11:12 AM by Sirvinya
I love pizza, kebabs, chips, chinese food, indian food. All delicious. I allowed myself one a week but now I'm on my no-buy. I have decided that I can have a takeaway on payday. And that is it. It'll be saving me £10 a week at least. On a wednesday lunch I walk down to the cafe near work and get pie and chips. I won't be doing that any more. I've got some salad in for tomorrow. On a friday we all order lunch in from a local sandwich shop. It's £2.50 but I won't be ordering every week. I'm not going to deny myself tasty treats completely but I won't be having them every week as before. So, not this week for friday lunch. But I will order next week. And I'll have jacket potato with cheese and beans rather than a sandwich. I should really be reducing my wheat intake and I've been eating far too much of it lately.

Japanese Makeup!

Posted 05-19-2008 at 10:57 PM by Ashley

So I've been interested in some Japanese drugstore makeup for a while, but I never got around to looking for them in LA. I've discovered a few stores that are Japanese drugstore makeup heaven! It's great going into them. A lot of brands have very nice packaging. I'm totally getting ripped off with these imported prices. It would be so much cheaper getting it online, but I like to walk around and look at things.

They had Lavshuca, Kanebo Kate, Kiss Me (but no Heroine Mascara! Boo!), Coffret D'or, Sony CP, and tons of other brands. I didn't see any Jill Stuart or Majolica Majorica. I was really hoping to see a Majolica Majorica palette like this one: http://atouchofblusher.blogspot.com/...a-majorca.html

So pretty!

Oh well! I ended up getting Sana Pore putty Makeup Base, which is supposed to minimize the look of pores. And K-Palette 1 Day Tattoo Real Lasting Eyeliner. There was a tester there and I tried it on my hand. It has the staying power of MAC's Liquidlast without the crappy brush and gloopiness!

I also bought two Kose face washes to try out from a local Japanese market.

It's a good thing I've discovered these stores, 'cause I was beginning to get bored of MAC and their constant collections! They're really overdoing it! I don't even have time to pick up things from the permanent line anymore!

I really want to go to Japan and Korea because they seem to have the coolest makeup products and beauty advancements always seem to originate from there - eyelash extensions, digital perms!

I'm currently growing my hair out and hoping to get a digital perm when I have time.

2 new tops, sort of

Posted 05-19-2008 at 01:20 PM by Sirvinya
Yes, you did read that right. I bought 2 new tops today. I'm well within my no-buy rules though.

I'm busy clearing my wardrobe and pulling out my summer stuff. In the summer I live in vest tops. They're just so easy for when it's too hot to care about much. Two of mine from a couple of years ago really aren't going to be good for this summer. So I had to throw them away. I got 2 replacement ones from Tesco today. They should have been £6 for them both but with various sales they ended up being £3.80 total. Now, that's a bargain! Normally I would have gone back and bought several more but today I only replaced the ones I threw out this morning.

My 9th Night of Running

Posted 05-18-2008 at 11:43 PM by MissElaine
I'm feeling really great, y'all. In the past three nights alone Blake and I have run 5.25 miles! WOOHOO!!! I think we're going to up it from running 1.5 miles to 1.75 or maybe even TWO!

Being able to notice the changes all over my body is quite a wonderful and inspiring occurence. I've never felt this before. I've just always been one of those "fat skinny girls" and finally I realized that I am NOT okay with that. Not only is this great for my body (inside and out), but it's trickling down into everything else in my life. It's had an impact positively on my self esteem, stress, and depression. I've suffered from those things and more for a long time and it's amazing to feel like the clouds are being lifted. I still have a ways to go, but for once I feel like there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Love, Elaine
