Guess what made its way to Sephora?

LOL Everybody's favorite beauty product:

hehe...I think Nury or Shaundra would get a laugh out of this. I know they've noticed how horrible their promo pics are...unblended eyeshadow, sloppy application, etc.

2- Shear Genius...Sheer Terror

Posted 07-02-2008 at 08:37 PM by Ray of sunshine
In hopes of building my confidence in hair cutting... I have been watching shear genius. The reality show that is made up of a cast of hair stylists who are completely skilled and completely confident. I thought if I saw some people who knew what they were doing in action, it might calm my fears and maybe even inspire me and excite me. This could be the show that gives me something to look forward to.
I was so effing completely wrong.
I was so effing completely wrong.

Episode one: They introduce the stylists and present the first challenge.
Blindfolded cuts.
People who were good at cutting hair with blindfolds and razors hacking at defenseless models with little bitty ear covers and goggles. People were cutting their own hands. Oh my god...Doing makeup without a mirror is one thing...but cutting hair blindfolded...

First she chops off a lock of hair, then a quick stab in the eye.

Oops! Sorry! You didn't need that bit of ear did you?

Damn, there goes the tip of your nose!

Then they turned people into cartoon characters...I can't even describe these hairstyles...I want to know what school you have to go to to exactly duplicate Marge Simpson's hairstyle because I don't think my school covers that.

How did he do this? Bobby pins, he said!
That makes sense.

Betty Boop. How do you do this? Super cute.

So as bad as episode one made me feel, I had high hopes for the second one.

My hopes got squished.

Episode two:One of my greatest fears about being a hair stylist is that girls tend to explode if you mess up their precious locks.
So this week, I was kind of hoping for reasonable models willing to work with the stylists.
So they brought the Real Houswives of the OC. So agreeable.
I don't know whether people in the OC are craziest...or if people who volunteer to cut these ladies hair are craziest.
I do know that I would have chopped off some housewives' mouths.

So as of today, I am still dreading picking up those shears and tackling tangles.
I do have a new favorite term...
blonderexic.
Ladies who are addicted to the bleach & highlights.
