looool. it's not like i particularly like or dislike that feeling, but i got this morning a tiny tiny insight on what it is to have a rare disease. i'm talking about detecting the coeliac disease, one of the suspects, if not the #1. the first step is a blood test, to detect special antibodies, the endomysial to be precise. the doc "ordered" a complete blood work as a person with coeliac disease (but doesn't know it yet) can also suffer from diarrhea (among other symptoms of course), meaning all the nutrients can't be absorbed by the body, so you can lack iron for example, or calcium.
anyway, the person at the lab had to ask two people because she didn't know the name of an endomysial antibody. when it's finally my turn, the man asks if the disease has already been detected or not, and in fact he asked me this because as he said himself, it's really rare to have that test ordered. to the point he didn't know where to send the tubes, as apparently it's a special lab who's performing the tests and then sending the results to my lab. LOL !!
anyway, the man took about eight or nine tubes, never got so much blood taken so it's a new record, and with a specific long & thin tube i never saw (which is suspect is the one for antibodies ?). as i didn't have time to go home and have a breakfast before my english test, i treated myself with a croissant and another delicacy from the bakery. then almost drank 1 liter of water and swallowed a pill of vitamin C, lol. just so i won't pass out in front of my mates and my teacher
anyway, i like venting on my blog about all my little health issues, i don't like much diaries, so i vent on here
on a related uni stuff i got my official diploma from last year, it's a nice piece of paper, coloful and shiny. i also got my results from my first semester. i passed 3 classes (i had 6 in total). it's not that bad. it's not that good either, that said it's the same for everyone (which isn't an excuse but it reassures me my brain is average lol) and most important, it's only a semester. i already knew i had half passed my exams because most of them were so-so, now what's important is the second semester. if i work enough, i may even compensate my grades from the first semester with the second, which would be ideal as i'd really love to work on June.
