My 9th Night of Running

Posted 05-18-2008 at 11:43 PM by MissElaine
I'm feeling really great, y'all. In the past three nights alone Blake and I have run 5.25 miles! WOOHOO!!! I think we're going to up it from running 1.5 miles to 1.75 or maybe even TWO!

Being able to notice the changes all over my body is quite a wonderful and inspiring occurence. I've never felt this before. I've just always been one of those "fat skinny girls" and finally I realized that I am NOT okay with that. Not only is this great for my body (inside and out), but it's trickling down into everything else in my life. It's had an impact positively on my self esteem, stress, and depression. I've suffered from those things and more for a long time and it's amazing to feel like the clouds are being lifted. I still have a ways to go, but for once I feel like there's a light at the end of the tunnel.

Love, Elaine

Seven Nights of Running

Posted 05-17-2008 at 01:41 AM by MissElaine

Tonight I ran for the seventh time in the last nine days. It feels so good! I get terrible stitches in my side now and I swear that if it weren't for those then I would be able to run the entire way without slowing down. So here's the cool thing about tonight: We decided that we were going to run 1 1/4 miles for four days to make up for the mile we didn't run yesterday. We leave our water bottles sitting outside of our house and when we pass the house (every half mile) we take a swig and keep running. WELL tonight as soon as we completed the first mile I realized something...I wasn't winded or out of breath or anything!!! *gasp* What on earth?!?! So we kept running and I told Blake that we should just run another half mile instead of the fourth! WHAT! So we did! I ran a mile and a half tonight and I feel just fine!!! What an amazing feeling. I can't believe my body has already gotten used to running that distance. It's such a strange feeling. I've never exercised on a consistent basis so all of this is new and exciting. So yeah! I'm half way to my goal of running for two weeks...and then I will get to weigh myself! Woohoo! I'm feeling great!

xoxo, Elaine

My 5th Night of Running

Hey everyone! Okay, tonight was my fifth night to run! I actually ran a little more than a 1 1/4 miles! Wahoo! I'm starting to see little things changing and firming up...my boyfriend sees it too! I'm so glad I'm keeping this up, because honestly? I was a little skeptical at first. We've tried this a couple times before and my head just wasn't in it. This time though I think I realize how much I need it. It's SO nice to have Blake running with me. I love that he's there to encourage me and push me (even though I might not like it at the time!) and I feel so safe and confident with him running beside me. I mean, come on, who's going to mess with me when there's a SIX FOOT FOUR TWO HUNDRED TWENTY FIVE POUND BEAST OF A MAN RUNNING BESIDE ME?!! hehehe

Things are going well. I'm happy that they are.
Lovey love love, Elaine

Running: Night #3

It didn't happen! UGH! I attended a girl's night out at a friend's house and didn't get home in time for our run. Boo. I feel bad now. SO, to make up for it I think we are going to go TWO miles tomorrow. Notice I didn't say "run" two miles, I said "go"! I might just have to walk some of that. I think my leg muscles hurt worse than I've ever felt them in my whole life. Seriously. MY WHOLE LIFE. I hope everyone else is doing well! xoxo

Running: Night #2

I was incredibly sore this morning when I woke up and remained sore all day and night. But did that stop me from running?! NO! NEVER! It hurt like heck, but I did it anyway and I feel great now. I hate to admit that last part. I would love to tell y'all that I feel miserable and I would rather sit on my butt than run a mile every night with my precious boyfriend...but I just can't do it. While I'm running I feel like dying, but afterwards I feel so mellow. Again, it's so nice to have a partner to exercise with. We motivate each other and I love it.
Okay! So Running: Night #2 was a RIP-ROARING SUCCESS!!! WOOHOO!!!
