Hi...also new from VA...
Hi...I'm Gin. I'm in Hampton not too far from Williamsburg not too far from Norfolk. I've been doing make up for friends and family for a few years now and am looking into getting training in the art. I'm a musician as well so make up training would be beneficial both in my career and on stage.
If anyone can recommend a school or study course or a place where I could receive formal training that would be great! In the meantime, I look forward to learning many things from you all. |

Hi Gin!! So awesome to see someone else from the hampton roads area! I have done tons of research on formal training in anything related to cosmetology and there are some schools in Richmond. Then, I found HEX hollywoood expression, training for makeup artists and they help you find a job! I was too late signing up for the Richmond class, so I am going to the one in NY since I don't mind traveling. It is highly accredited and can give opportunities in print, tv and many other outlets. Right now I am just working on my portfolio and after my training hopefully relocate to northern virginia, but that is a ways away.
In richmond there is Empire Beauty Academy also VCU has an art program. Other than that there aren't too many other classes/ schools you would want to waste your time on.Not in this area anyways. Maybe in VA beach though. I never researched that area. If you want some more info just message me! I would love to chat with you since we live so close Sarah |
