Applying Foundation-- What do you use?

A few months ago I bought the 190 Mac Foundation brush and have used that for applying foundation. This morning I applied it with a basic sponge and wow did I see a difference! I had a completely flawless face. I know the sponge absorbs more of the product but after seeing the results I think i'll be using a simple sponge from now on! What do you use?!

Re: Applying Foundation-- What do you use?

I use either a foundation brush, or if I am in a rush, juts my fingers...

I do like sponges, but I don't like the thought of re-using one, and using a separate one every time would eat up a LOT of foundation, so I'll be staying away from sponges, I may use one every now and then to kind of "finish" my look, and smooth it out some but that is about it...

Re: Applying Foundation-- What do you use?

Same for me, I like sponge better than the 2 brushes I own. MAC wedge sponges are good but I love Alcone ones I swapped for some last year and LOVED them. I need to get some more they are bigger than MAC's and very strong

I use a damp sponge, foundation brush or fingers.

Hi greeneyedangel! I don't wear foundation right now, but I know it's a good technique to apply foundation with your wedge sponge first, then use the foundation brush to "blend" for a seamless finish. I know your look is Flawless no matter what you use though!

Hey girl!! Thanks! I can't remember who suggested this- it may have been Trisha? but another good technique to look flawless is to draw x's all over your face real quick with the brush or sponge and then in a downwards motion again. I think because it totally fills everything in. It really does work!

I'm not sure I just tried it by accident once and really liked it so I always make sure my sponge or brush is damp.

Re: Applying Foundation-- What do you use?

I'm a hands-on person myself. I've used good brushes but for the liquid foundation that I love, I find my finger application technique works really well.

Yeah, I usually use sponges too... but dry. It would make sense though, if the problem is that they absorb too much foundation to wet the sponge, that way the sponge already has water in it and the foundation will not absorb into it. Hmm... I didn't think about that before either but now I think i'll be wetting my sponges!!

Yeah, I think that's one of Trisha's tips!

Re: Applying Foundation-- What do you use?

Depending on what type of foundation I'll be using - if liquid, I find using my fingers alot better than a sponge; powder foundation I use a sponge for more coverage or a brush for sheer to medium coverage.

I use my fingers too, I know many people are against it but it's nicer than the brush and the sponges.
