Hey guys...I was having a make up discussion with one of my girlfriends and she mentioned that her ex boyfriend works for a shipping company and said that BENEFIT cosmetics never passed when they tried to ship overseas because their make up contains LEAD!!! for my sake and everyone else's i'm hoping that this is not true and i'm wondering if someone could prove them wrong, because I really like their products, especially the BADgal lash...which is one of the mascaras that I am using now...

PLEASE someone prove them wrong... =/

What I would advice u if that u stop using this product for a while, just so u can be safe while making some research at the same time about this.

Here is a test that you can do it yourself to determine if BENEFIT lipsticks or any other brand contain lead: 1. Put some lipstick on your hand.
2. Use a 24k-14k Gold ring to scratch on the lipstick.
3. If the lipstick color changed to Black color; it means this lipstick has Lead.

If u make this test and it turns positive I would advice u to immediately discard their makeups because they do have lead!


60% of the lipsticks contain lead and this is very dangerous girls!

I didn't knew it was a hoax! all this time I thought it was so real! I feel so mad! do u girls know how many gorgeous lipstick colors and brands I've been ignoring since I found out about this!?... seriously, I'm so angry! Why people invent such things if they're not real? Anyway, I think they don't have anything else to do! I'm going back to normal then!

The tip about the gold ring against the lipstick is not true.

The streaks that supposedly herald the presence of lead in one's lipstick are in reality dark marks produced by the testing agents themselves. Gold, silver, copper, and pewter leave these trails no matter what they're rubbed up against, in the same way that pencils make marks on whatever surfaces they are trailed along. That these marks appear more prominent against a lipstick backdrop is attributed to contrast - streaks that look grey against a white background seem brown against a reddish background, and brown is a color more readily picked out by the eye.

The bottom line is that U.S. medical literature has yet to record a single case of anyone's coming down with lead poisoning through lipstick use.
