Certain packaging that you dislike...

What kind of packaging for certain products do you always avoid/dislike?

For me, I don't like using lip products from a pot (lip balm included), or when there's a squeeze tube. If there's a brush or sponge on the end of the squeeze tube it's all good, but otherwise no. I like my regular sponge/brush applicators and stuff in tubes-I don't like using my fingers or a lip brush.

I second the pot lip gloss thing.

Kind of off topic, but I had a friend one time who ate half of my tube of chapstick on a dare. I made him pay me back for it too. It kind of made me mad!

He may have paid in more than one way -- those things usually contain lots of petroleum jelly, and that stuff's a laxative if you eat it...

Me, I hate any packaging that doesn't let you see the product colour without opening it. All packaging should have either a window or a coloured sticker, I reckon.

Oh that really annoys me! I hate that too. I also really dislike lipgloss/lip balm pots as well.

I also hate packaging that is deceitful. You think the package holds so much product but it really doesn't.

I don't like blush packaging that has an extra compartment for a tiny brush. I use my own brush to apply blush so I will throw the tiny brush out anyway and then I think it looks stupid lol, to have a blush compact that is only half blush and half empty.

too true! to me that's wasteful, and that's a pet peeve of mine - when stuff is overly packaged or there's an extra brush added (which most people won't use anyway).
I also hate the lipgloss in pots thing, although I have a pot of Kiehl's lipbalm that I still use (but not in public!)

Re: certain packaging that you dislike...

I really can't stand Cargo packaging! As much as I love Urban Decay... The single eye shadow medallions seem very cheaply made. Visually the first time I looked at it I liked it until I held it and opened it... it seemed very cheap.
That's all I can think of off the top of my head

Re: certain packaging that you dislike...

i agree about UD, mine seem pretty solid but i'm sure in a few years they won't be. i love the deluxe e/s though.
hmm, i hate obscure names or numbers that doesn't tell what color of e/s or whatever you're buying.
lipglosses in a pot are a nightmare, but i have no problem with lipbalms in a pot, my nuxe si sooo great.
the packagings where obviously all the money has been used to make a cute object, and not a real product that works.

Re: certain packaging that you dislike...

Lip gloss/balm pots and the click pen type lipglosses/concealers, etc. really bother me.

Re: certain packaging that you dislike...

I have a problem with lables that doesn't tell you how much is in the container - BarryM for instance doesn't tell you how much of the loose e/s is in the jar. Also, the e/s just has numbers on the packaging, but on the website there is a description ("peony", "tan", "old gold" etc). Why not have it on the jar as well?
Some packiging is just impossible to open without breaking the product. Rimmel blushes are great but it's sooo difficult to open without getting your nail stuck in the blush.
