I remember when I got my contacts my eye doctor told me not to wear waterproof makeup around my eyes, as it would flake. I hate being limited to regular makeup! I hear so many of you rave about waterproof mascara and eyeliner.. I want to wear it for myself. Are there any waterproof mascaras that ARE contact safe and that won't flake?

Last I checked, even non-waterproof mascara flaked. I've never had an eye doctor tell me not to wear waterproof mascara. Generally, the packaging for mascaras will tell you if it's safe for contact lens wearers or not. Avon Wash-Off Waterproof mascara is a good one, and it's ophthalmologist tested.

When I had my contacts I used Maybelline great lash waterproof. I really love it & it never flaked for me.

Thanks girls! I read a review on Wet N' Wild's H20 proof mascara stayed put and never flaked on them... do you think it would be good for me to invest in that to start off with? Then again, there was another review where this mascara just ran all over their face..

I dont use waterproof and I still use it fine. It depends. I think they are pretty safe the waterproof one for lens wearers.
