Thumbs up CoverFX

Hey ladies,

I usually use MAC Studio Fix (NC#35), but after hearing so much about CoverFX Total Coverage Cream Foundation I decided to try it out and see what all the hype was about. I bought it from Shopper's Drug Mart in C20, and I LOVE IT!!! It is seriously the best foundation I've ever used. When I went to Shopper's to get it the saleslady was trying to talk me out of buying it by saying how it's really heavy. She wanted me to buy this cream foundation from Smashbox. I am so glad I stood my ground b/c it's amazing. I have combination skin and I feel like I am forever powdering my shiny t-zone. So, I moisturized (Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion...also new, also really like), then I used Lise Watier Base Miracle Pore Minimizing Primer, then I used the CoverFX. At first it was weird getting used to the consistency...you have to use a foundation brush (I use MAC #190)...you need to get your brush in there on one side only, then start in the middle of your face and stiple, stiple, stiple! If you get too much in one spot use the other side of the brush to clean it up a bit. Finally I used a loose powder (Red Earth BE130) to set it and voila! My skin looked amazing. I can't explain it. I was able to get major coverage (you couldn't see my freckles), but yet it felt satiny smooth and didn't look or feel caked on at all. My skin looked amazing! The best part...I didn't have to re-apply powder once all day! The shine didn't come through. Girls, it's not often that a product like this comes your way...I highly recommend it to everyone!

Janna

Re: CoverFX

You should try it! It's the only thing I've ever used that has been able to control my shine all day long! It's funny b/c I just got off the phone with my friend in Utah and she wants me to go buy her one and send it We're going to trade...CoverFX for her, Frederic Fakkai glossing cream and something else for me. Anyone have any suggestions as to what else I should get? Something that's around $12 that I can't get in Canada. Thanks!

Re: CoverFX

Does it clog your pores? My skin is REALLY sensitive to comedogenic/acnegenic ingredients...

Re: CoverFX

No! The exact opposite actually. it was actually formulated for people with major skin problems! Here's what it says on their website:

"COVER FX colour cosmeceuticals can be used safely by men and women; with any skin type or colour; and are the first choice for people with sensitive and intolerant skin. COVER FX products are formulated to include dermatologist approved ingredients and UV protection."

You should check it out...but don't go by the colour swatches for shades of foundation...it really isn't accurate at all. I'm bought a C20 (pale, pink undertones) but on the site it looks totally dark.

Good luck!

Re: CoverFX

Hi Janna
First off, welcome to Mut I'm Emmy from Ontario. You're from Alberta, u said?

I was actually gonna buy this foundation last weekend, but the Shoppers I went to didn't carry it Thanks for the review. From what I heard, the bronzer is really good as well.

I'm glad they started carrying this at Shoppers now

Re: CoverFX

I am going to check this out as I have been eyeing this up for months. Janna, how is the colour selection? How about coverage of blemishes and circles? I have checked out the website and it looks great. There only 2 Shoppers that carry it in our area, so I will have to swing by there.

Re: CoverFX

I just came back from Shoppers today that carries this, and I really like it. It's very heavy coverage, so the stippling is really necessary. It would be great for long wear definitely, or even just for spot coverage. Didn't get it though coz I still have a lot of the foundations I use right now, but I will definitely buy it next time I need a new one.

Hey Tony...no, it's not my website...I am not affilliated with it in any way (I'm not even in the beauty industry)...I just discovered the product I thought about that after I sent it, since I'm new on this site, that my review may be misconstrued...
