There's no denying it—colors influence our mood. Spring and summer's beauty past have consisted of neutrals, pale pinks and earthtones. This season, we challenge you to do something different. Instead of applying the beiges of old, reinvent your beauty routine by going bold. Read on for our suggestions...


Golden Kiss
The great thing about metallics is that they go with everything because they don't really go with anything. You can pair a gold handbag with denim, black, red, and the list goes on. The same can be said of the Illusion Lights Beauty Pro Eyeshadow in Golden Kiss ($14.50). The crease-proof shadow blends smoothly and features a long-lasting formula. The yellowish hue will stay true to you all day and won't melt in the sun.


Papaya Lipstick
Beauty guru David Scott tells us orange-tinged lips are hot this season. With these compacts, beauty mavens will have the opportunity to customize color and tone on their faces, as well as help wildlife. Orange-Buttered Nails
You butter toast, why not your nails? The Brits at butter LONDON just came out with Jaffa 3 Free, a hot nail lacquer ($12) in juicy orange. It's seedless, but still as potent as the deepest citrus hue. Perfect for summer, Nonie Creme, celebrity London manicurist and creative director at butter, has already started applying the tint on clients. She loves the color because it "feels fresh and unexpected."


White Mascara

You're so over the mascaras in your beauty bar—thickening, extending, and long-lasting, they promise. And still, you don't have Christina Aguilera's lashes. You're not into the fake lash thing, but what's a girl to do to make her eyes stand out? Enter, Vincent Longo's Vibrant Eye Waterproof Mascara in Bianco ($24). This beauty wonder won't clump (what else is new?) and embodies the most electric color you've ever seen—white! Note: If you're going to do white lashes, use a complementing eye shadow like pastel pink or yellow.


Devilish Lip Care

Devilish lip care? That might sound like an oxymoron, but by Terry's Laque de Rose in Devil Rose ($44) is just that. The intensive, tinted lip care provides your mouth with SPF-15 protection, but the purple-ish tint keeps you looking like the vixen that you are. Sweet Shadows

For your next girls' night out, dress up your little black dress with a little pizzazz on your face. For starters, try Sugar Color Sticks ($14 each). These creamy eye shadows glide on crease-free and dry to a shimmering finish. Choose from Blue Pop, Pink Fizz, Grape Soda, Limeade and Apple Cider to light up your pretty peepers.


Not-So-Mellow Yellow

Adorn your nails with a color that pops. The Hot Pop Yellow nail polish from Creative Nail Design ($5.99) will be sure to catch every eye on the beach. I am all about experimenting and trying bold colors! Some of these I wouldn't use because they don't go well with my skin tone, but you know, if it is a bold color, I'll certainly try it!
