Hello all!! I'm new here, but definitely not new to makeup!!!

Anywho, I wanted to get your input on a deal I was going to make on some MAC pigments. Here's the deal:

There's a person here in Houston that is supposedly closing down here salon and is selling all of her MAC pigments. I want to purchase one set of 45 pigments for $270, which is about $6 a jar. I know this is a good deal in of itself, but I can't justify buying a quantity of makeup that I can't fully use.

I've seen people on this forum selling samples of these pigments for around $2.25 for 1/4 tsp, which means I would need to sell 120 samples to recoup my $$$. Is there that much demand for these pigments? I'd be happy to break even.

Also, the person I would get this from said they could order me a new set of 45 if I wanted one so I don't know what kind of connection they have if they are selling them this cheap. I do have the opprtunity to personally look at this product, so hopefully if authenticity is an issue I'll be able to tell.

OKAY, So the question is DEAL or NO DEAL?

Hm...are all the pigments brand new? I would be very cautious because there are websites popping up claiming to sell MAC pigments "wholesale" and people chip in together to buy big lots...but these pigments are always fake.

She offered to let me check out the quality. This won't be difficult as we live in the same city. I'll go check it out.

In the mean time, I'm going to do ALOT of reading on how to spot fakes!!

If they are authentic and you decide to sell samples, I would DEFINITELY be interested. I would have to send you a money order or concealed cash though, but I am in Houston too. Anyway, if it goes through, let me know.

I'll meet with her on Monday, but the more I wait, the more doubt sets in. I think the photo she posted was a stock photo andcounted 54 pigments. Also, she said if I wanted a full set, she could order me one. I thought she only had 3 sets available because her "salon" was shutting down.

HMMMM.....Sounds more and more doubtful that these are real MAC.

Oh well, if I find out they aren't real, I don't have to buy them right?!!

i also hope they're real!!

but then again if theyre a good price and you like the quality, even if they are fake you can still get a few you like.

Otherwise, there are lots of us who have sales in the forsale forum and many have great feedback ratings!
