To depot e/s or not?

Hi gals, how are you doing there? Am new to the forum and MU. Love MAC to bits~~!!

I have some questions about depoting of e/s... Should I depot the e/s into the pan? I'm afraid that I'm gonna crush them~

Gals, do you prefer to depot your lovely e/s? Or just leave it as it is? Thanks heaps~~!!

Re: To depot e/s or not?

i think depotting is a nice idea if you want to transfer them into palette, but if you are too worried about damaging them maybe you can try with other low end brand, then if you get the trick then you can try it with you mac e/s.

I've never depotted my e/s and don't want to. I like to keep them seperate, they fit better into my makeup case that way and are easier to travel with.

Re: To depot e/s or not?

I don't know how come I waited so long to depot my e/s. Now that I have them all in one place, I feel I have so many options.
The MAC ones are a bit harder to take out ( I actually had a friend do it for me), but the Milani ones are easy. Do it.. you will love having everything in one place.

Re: To depot e/s or not?

Welcome to MUT!

I prefer to leave mine as is, but I'm starting to run out of room, so I may consider
depotting in the near future.

Re: To depot e/s or not?

I've started depotting mine and if you search through the threads, you'll find a thread I started for crying over makeup (I made lots of boo-boos depotting my very first one and cried over it! LOL). Anyway, I did it because I ran out of room for my e/s in my brush clutch (where I store them safe and secure along with my brushes)!

Re: To depot e/s or not?

I depot all of mine and always will ! I've never wrecked one, after I depotted my first e/s I couldn't believe how easy it was and haven't stopped depotting since.

I like using quads for mac and keeping color families together, and in my 15 pan I have a mix of NYX and milanis that I use wet. I just like seeing all the colors together and its so much neater, saves space

Re: To depot e/s or not?

I'm too chicken to depot my MAC e/s, though I do have all of my Milani in a 15 palette. But it would be good for B2M.

Re: To depot e/s or not?

i've depotted every one of my e/s, and haven't destroyed a single one.
I actually think that MAC is much easier to depot than Milani, because most of my Milani needed to be melted, and only 3 came out when pushed through the hole.
Anyway, the innner container of MAC e/s is super-soft, it literally takes like 5 sec on holding over the candle to be able to easily push the metal pan out.
Here's a super-easy tutorial for you:

I have depotted all of my shadows and haven't ruined one yet. You just have to be patient and take it slow.

I don't have many e/s so I don't use palettes.

Re: To depot e/s or not?

I have about 6 MAC 15-pan pallettes filled and a blush 6-pan. (plus quads) I think I might have chipped the first 1 or 2 - but nothing too damaging, and I love the way they are all together now. Space saver!
