does anyone know which counters in Nordstroms and Macy's give out samples?

The Kiehls counter will give out samples. If there's something you want to try with Mac first, they'll give you a small sample to test. I did that with the Mac Moistureblend foundation. I wanted to make sure my skin didn't react to it.

I know Estee Lauder has given out samples in the past but it has been a while since I have gone to an Estee Lauder counter.

benefit does sometimes... like face wash and scrubs. MAC, well you would have to ask for it since we don't have samples, we have to make them.

Clarins at Macys always has sample sizes of most of their skin care products. Estee Lauder also usually has sample sizes of their cosmetics.
for most brands, you can always ask them to "dram" a sample (they have small containers and vials and can take some product from the "testers" on the counter). almost every counter offers that service.
