Re: Dior employee?

Actually our freelancers for MAC don't get a discount. Only if they file for a PPID card on their own.

Congrats on the new job! Okay, I'm curious though as to why you left MAC?

Re: Dior employee?

humm thats odd. I work in the bay area and are freelancers get 30%. Regular employees get 60%... I come from a MAC store so maybe in other states this is different?

Well I was perm. with MAC for 8 months, and so I moved to freelance, but then I got this job with DIOR. I really want to move ahead with DIOR because of the Dior show artists is a dream of mine. I'm attending FIDM and wanted to try new things. I love MAC as a company, but I didn't want to be stuck as a manger in retail.. I wanted to be behind the scenes and attending shows as an artist... not that MAC doesn't offer that but there are so many people in MAC now a days.. plus I knew people that worked in the retail enviorment for 5 years and on and the biggest prom they got was 3rd key or not even that... it was just a personal choice that I know will pay off.

Did you consider being a resident trainer?

I work in the MAC Store in Tampa. Our freelancers don't get any sort of a discount, maybe they were giving you one under the radar? And there are lots of promotion opportunities if you go after them. I'm thinking to push towards artist training and development and possibly be a trainer...

Re: Dior employee?

Oh yes, I did condier that. But I knew that this area had so many people after that job and although I do love a challange I wanted to try other companys. And like I said before It had always been a dream to work for DIOR, so I know I can do good things for the company, but MAC is always in my heart

humm not sure. I know everyone here in the bay area, the freelances get 30%. Thats odd that they would do it in some places and not others.

Re: Dior employee?

Well, my favorite MAC MA put in for a resident trainers spot here in Maryland but they have one in Philly. She's gonna go for it. You have to look at the bigger picture if you really want it. I don't know if you would be willing to locate but that is always an option with any company.

Re: Dior employee?

lol, I converted my mom away from Clinique's skincare... I can't stand it myself, it killed my skin and honestly, I am not impressed with the company at all. There is no need for a 3 step system or toner, why not just use a cleanser etc that is ALREADY pH balanced like MAC's is?

I started using Green Gel Cleanser, Cleanse Off Oil, and Oil Control lotion on my skin and it has never been happier! I haven't had a breakout in about 3 weeks, where I used to have them all the time!
