Does anyone else feel like they look terrible with lots of makeup on? My daily look is a minimal one with foundation, light eyeliner, and a bit of lipgloss. Whenever Ive tried to do a heavier look, I feel I look terrible and not like myself at all!

Even prof makeup artists don't make me look good with heavier makeup, so I tend to stick with lighter makeup even when going out somewhere nice. This is depressing since everyone else really seems to enjoy doing the made up look.

Does anyone else find this? Should I persevere?

I think I don't look good with lots of color on my face either. My eyeshadow never really shows cos my eyes are quite hooded, and if I go too high with eyeshadow, then it just looks weird. Still, just to make my skin look even and to cover up all the flaws, it does take a lot of makeup and effort!!

I know what you mean, it just seems like makeup overload with dark colors sometimes, you really have to be perfect with your technique if u want to look good.

I feel the way you do. I cant wear heavy foundation, you know the works. Red lipstick is a no, light coverage on everything looks better for me

Not everyone looks good wearing a face full of makeup. When i play with my makeup and try new things i love how it looks but if i ever wear it out and about, i find like its not me. Its all about how you want to represent yourself and who you are. If you don't like a full face, then all you're saying is i don't like a lot of makeup and there's nothing wrong with that.

There's nothing wrong with it unless you're bothered by it. If you really want to try to make that look look good on you, then why not try different colours and finishes to see what looks okay together? If you're happy with a more natural look that's okay too, whatever you feel comfortable with.

I totally agree. Makeup, as with other aspects of our personal style, are just that- personal. It's all about perception, and of course there will be some people that tell you that you look great with lots of makeup. But how YOU want to look is what's important. If heavy makeup isnt your style, well, that's cool, you know? I'm the same way. Dont feel like you have to be like other people..

I look better with light makeup ..... I still wear heavy sometimes if Im going out for girls night but i think I look more attractive more natural

I don't think I look bad with lots of make up, but I don't look like myself. I'd rather wear less make up and look more natural. Most of my friends say that the only reason they can tell I wear makeup is because I do bright colors on my eyelids, they can't tell whether or not I'm wearing foundation. When I don't wear make up, they always comment I look more tired though

Same here!! Plus I'm not that good at applying heavier foundation on myself so for events like weddings I do like to get my makeup done!

i've been totally given up on eyeshadow nowadays as i never managed to make any colors to look good on me - or maybe i just really suck at applying it.

Sometimes, I feel like I'm wearing too much. If I go out somewhere and see a lot of girls wearing nothing but mascara and I'm there wearing a full-face on, I feel a bit ridiculous. I mean, its not horrible looking but yeah, lol.

So its good if you look good in only a little bit of makeup. I envy that!

I think i look HORRIBLE with too much makeup on, i feel like its caked on, i feel OLD! i cannot get myself to wear anymore than light foundation and pink eyeshadow and blush, a little bit of mascara and thats it, some sheer lipgloss, i always go very natural because i feel ridiculous with too much makeup on, i think its kind of a shame that young girls, 15-19 wear too much makeup to try and look older, they just look bad, and its not even good for you cause it causes you to age faster, so i totally understand what you mean.

The only times i wear a little bit more makeup than im used to is when i do FOTD's, but then i wash it off right away cause i don't feel comfortable wearing the look all day, id rather wear no makeup at all, i like myself better with no makeup than with it on, so its usually very very light.

I think its about getting the technique right. I think I look fine with heavy makeup but I only do it when its approriate and it depends who Im seeing.

When I wear so much makeup I know I look different, and I dont want to be that girl you dont recognize when the makeup is gone. I always try not to cross that line, and no matter what remember to enhance, not change, your features!

Simply I do look just fine with a little eyeliner and mascara, but when I wear eyeshadow and fake eyelashes people still compliment me. I do bright colors now and then. And then there is always things maybe you just can't pull off, I look 10 years older with red lips, and an all black smoky eye is a no for me, but I still like black eyeshadow on the outer corner and as
