ok i really wanted some eye glitter because i saw some at claire's and it came in soo many colors and it just looked super cool. and so i found some that my sister had and tried to see if i could put it on right, because i don't want it to be too much, just enough to make my eyes sparkle in a certain color. but when i tried it like got all over my face, in my eyes, and i had no idea what i was doing. it sucked bad. lol. so any tips??

Re: glitter :[[
You might want to try applying a cream eyeshadow in a color that is similar to the glitter on your lid first. While it is still wet, dab on the glitter. You could also try using lotion, concealer, etc. to help the glitter stick.
I suggest that you always put on your eye makeup first, before putting on any concealer, foundation, lipgloss, etc. because your eye makeup is usually the messiest. You are probably going to get glitter all over your face when applying it, so have some clear scotch tape handy so that you can pick up the stray glitter when you are done. Sometimes I make little glitter cat eyes by using eyelash glue as eyeliner and applying the glitter on top of it while it is still wet. Once the glitter has dried, you can carefully apply the rest of your makeup. There are also products like Ben Nye Liquiset that you can brush on top of the glitter to help keep it in place all day. But if you don't want to buy that, you will probably be ok just using a carrier (cream eyeshadow, lotion, concealer, eyelash glue) to keep the glitter on. Have fun and get creative, Sweetheart!!! P.S. Welcome to Makeup Talk!!! P.S.S. I love your avatar!!!

Re: glitter :[[
Also, just get a little *dab* on your brush and PAT it on instead of brushing it on. Patting it puts it in place while brushing it on tends to make it more airborne.

Re: Eye Glitter
i would use an eyeshadow brush and apply very carefully, little by little in one
or two areas of the face. |

You are definately going to need a base to hold that glitter in place. I heard that Visine (eyedrops) work similar to the MAC mixing mediums
one thing that is important that I have a feeling no one thinks about is you need to make sure you glitter is paper based. Most glitters that sell in stores are metallic based and if it gets in your eye it can be harmful. The container the glitter comes in will likely advise to keep it away from the eyes.

Re: Eye Glitter
I agree with patting it on with an e/s brush over a cream base. It will last much longer...

Re: Eye Glitter
i agree with patting and don't forget to use a base! i'd check out urban decay's primer potion. it'll grip on to them so that they don't budge.

Re: Eye Glitter
If you have some problems getting the glitter off, use a bit of olive oil or the like. The oil will help "break" the adhesion to your skin.
