Re: Face Colour????

wear a turtleneck top. JK!!!
i'd say go for the pink tone because you can blend it down into the neck slightly. i think that if you buy a yellow tone foundation for a pink tone face, that'll be just ... to much. doesn't seem to make sense. right? oh. im just babbling. i have no real answer.

Re: Face Colour????

You don't necessarily want a pink face though. Pick something more neutral to reduce the redness. Pink based foundations will make it worse.

Re: Face Colour????

Are you absolutely positive your face doesn't have yellow tones? I have yellow tones on my face but very pink cheeks. Anyway, I find that I look really weird with foundations w/ pink tones.

hth is Hope that helps!

Re: Face Colour????

I say go with something more yellow. Your foundation should blend into your neck...you don't want the obvious line of demarcation. Hope you find something that works!

Re: Face Colour????

I have the same problem. My body and neck have yellow undertones but when it comes to my face esp my cheeks is more pink toned than yellow. I use a yellow based foundation as it even my face out with the rest of my skin and calms down the pinky look in my face

Re: Face Colour????

If you have a Prescriptives counter nearby you, you might go to one and have your skin Colorprinted--they will custom make a foundation for your skintone exactly, with the correct undertones and neutralizing colors. Or, less expensively (custom blended foundation is about $60), an SA there can just match you to your correct color foundation--they have four groups, all based on the color of undertones of your skin. They take everything into consideration when looking to identify your correct undertone shade, and thus shade of foundation, including the skin on your cheeks and neck.
Fairly often, people with reddish tones in the skin choose to "neutralize" them by using yellower colors of foundation; rather than matching to the pink or red shade, they camaflage it. This may be partly why there are so many more yellow-based foundations to choose from than pink-based ones, and may help you in itself: if the more typical foundation "yellows" your skin, it will match it more closely to your neck skin, and then there will be less if no visible difference. (My own neck is lighter than my face but I think most people's faces and necks do differ slightly or more so in color. The contrast is probably more noticeable to you than to others. )

Re: Face Colour????

I have yellow/olive tones to my skin but I also have sensitive face skin and it looks a bit pink at times. I find that yellow/beige tone foundations cancel out the pinkness. Pink toned foundation tends to look unnatural, at least to me it does.

Yes, match your base color to your neck because you don't want any lines - and besides the yellow will help tone down the red in your skin.
