Foundation Medium/oily Skin

Hi!

For years I did not wear foundation because I thought my skin was too oily and the foundation would not stay on ... this said, after reading several of your posts, I have decided to try again, especially with winter coming, I think I would give it a try.
I have tried Estee L. Ideal Matte and I liked it a lot.
Do you have any recommendations?

Thanks for your help!

DiorAddict, I use Chantecaille's Future Skin foundation. It is an oil free gel foundation with SPF 10 and sells for $58 for a 1 oz. jar. I mix foundations, i.e. Chantecaille Future Skin w/EL Double Wear to get a longer lasting foundation. Sometimes, a mu primer can help as well. HTH.

Re: Foundation Medium/oily Skin

I always recommend Estee Lauder DoubleWear foundation for oily skinned girls. Its a full coverage foundation & lasts al day on my combi skin. Recently however, i've found it's too matte for my liking so i mix it with Lancome Teint Idol and still get the same staying power!

Try and get a sample if you can

Re: Foundation Medium/oily Skin

Thanks all!
I think I am going to try EL; is chantecaille really good? I know it' s kind of expensive but I am ready to buy it if it can help my oily skin
I have a question though...how do you mix 2 different foundations?

Re: Foundation Medium/oily Skin

I Almay's Clear Complexion. It's Oil-free, but it's geared more towards blemish proned skin. The alternative would be Almay's Skin Stays Clean foundation, also oil-free.

* Hypo-allergenic
* Oil free
* Feel the clean, all day!
* Clean Pore Complex helps keep pores clean and dirt out.
* Goes on cool, refreshing, super light.
* Evens out skintone with a natural finish.
* Skin feels clean, looks fresh all day.
* No animal, vegetable, or mineral oil.
* Vitamin A and E plus Aloe
* 100% fragrance free
* Non-irritating
* Non-comedogenic
* Clinically, dermatologist and allergy tested.

I usually put a small amount of each foundation on the back of my hand and mix there but i know you can buy mixing palettes or something like that!

HELLO! I use the aqua base from Merle Norman and the Luxiva powder/foundation combo. It works great. I have acne prone skin and oily skin.

Re: Foundation Medium/oily Skin

I have very oily skin and haven't found a perfect foundation (though I haven't tried the ones mentioned in this thread). However, another thing that really helps is using a good loose powder, and blotting sheets are also great for touch-ups.

Many pressed powders contain oils or wax to press the powder into the compact, so loose powders are usually best for oily skin. I've tried several loose powders, drugstore and department store brands, and the best by far is actually CoverGirl's Professional Loose Powder! Keeps my skin matte way longer than anything else, and it also helps set your foundation and concealor!

For blotting sheets, the only ones I've tried are Clean and Clear's, and they seem to work pretty well! You get 50 sheets for $5, and you just press the sheet to your face and it sucks up the oil without removing your makeup!
