What color eye shadow-- to use with a dark olive gown?

Purple eye shadow tends to compliment green eyes the best.

A great idea would be to look at the color wheel, and see the colors directly OPPOSITE of the green ( complimentary colors) and in your case your complimentary colors range from : Blue, Royal Blue and Purple.

I agree with the purple. I have green eyes, and I wore 3 or four shades of purple to work the other day, and everyone was commenting on how my eyes popped. If I wear green shadows, they comment on my eye SHADOWS... but with the purple, they all noticed my eyes.

I agree with everyone else, purple really makes green eyes pop. I have green eyes and i honestly think nearly every color looks good on green eyes, but purples and greens really just get sooo many compliments.

I have green eyes and purple eyeshadow really makes them pop. Bronze eyeshadow also look nice with green eyes and this color would look good with an olive green dress.

I am a make-up artist. I might go with a dark rich cocoberry color for drama. It depends on your coloring however. You might try a khaki/moss color too.

If it's an evening affair, you can't go wrong with a prismatic smokey eye, using a vibrant white, lt. grey, medium grey, dark grey, black, etc. You could do this with greens or purples, or even cobalt blue accents as well. Golds and bronzes could work, too. Green is very versatile.
