15 Have a foundation that perfectly matches their skin colour?

I was wondering, through my continuous search for the perfect foundation, how many people have found their matched colour in a foundation?
How many people are yellow based and can only find pink based foundation like me?

I have to say that the closest match I have had is with Prescriptives....It's right on the money...

That surprises me ... most brands carry mostly (or only) yellow-based foundations! Do you just have exceptionally strong yellow undertones? Since the majority of people have yellow undertones, and since some people with pink undertones like to wear yellow foundation to cancel out the pink, the vast majority of foundations I've seen have been yellow-based -- especially in the drugstores where most brands don't differentiate between warm and cool!

I have super-pale skin with pink undertones, and I haven't been able to find a foundation that matches perfectly. EDM's Fair Intensive foundation is close but just a hair dark, and turns orange later in the day from my oily skin. My biggest problem is that the lighest shade in most foundations is always too dark -- even Prescriptives, which is known for making pale shades!

Today I got the samples I ordered from Aromaleigh, and if you read my thread here, you'll see that I am trying to mix foundations to find my perfect color! Aromaleigh has the first foundation that I've ever tried that was actually too pale for me, so I am trying to mix it with another color to find the perfect shade!

Have you ever tried custom blend foundations? I know that Prescriptives has a custom-blend foundation although it is expensive ($65 last I checked). Prescriptives also has 4 undertones in several of their regular foundations, ranging from very pink/cool to very warm/yellow. Aromaleigh actually has 10 undertones which blew my mind!

Re: Have a foundation that perfectly matches their skin colour?

I find Lise Watier foundations to be a good match to my skin. I have yellow undertones but also have been told I am neutral or light olive. I have some rosiness due to sensitive skin, but other than that more neutral-yellow toned.

I've only had the best luck w/Prescriptive custom blend or Bobbi Brown...Trueblend make me look ashy and dry after a few hours

I've been searching for years for my perfect match , everything either looks too dark/light ... too yellow/red on me .... EDM has been my closest match to date

I have yellow undertones (I'm a light/med olive skin tone) and I am really happy with MAC Studio Fix foundation in NC30.

Re: Have a foundation that perfectly matches their skin colour?

I tried goodness knows how many drugstore foundations, it was just ridiculous how many bottles got tossed. I have no idea what my undertones are, but I did find perfect matches eventually w/ MAC.
Summertime: studio fix powder compact (NC45) just brushed on like powder
Winter: select tint (tinted moisturizer NC44) w/ studio fix powder (NC45) brushed overtop.

Re: Have a foundation that perfectly matches their skin colour?

i have a pale skin with some rosiness on the cheeks (sensitive skin sucks ) and pink undertones. i've only found yellow-based foundations, but mine appeared to be a bit too dark for me so i figured it was perfect for summer time (it's agnès b b pure ! foundation ). now i have to find one for winter.
